I need some advice

I need some advice ,my beloved freind bill is very ill with cancer and just lost his nephew and sister in law last Monday night in a horrific house fire and he is greiving extremely much right now and we pray every night together but I am not sure if God is listening to my prayers for Bill ,and we are feeling like there is something evil holding onto Bill right now what can we do?

My heart goes out to you and your friend. My Sister, God hears you. He knows you and He knows Bill. Can we pray right now?

Father God, we thank you so much for your sovereignty, Father; that you are the author of everything. Lord, we acknowledge your saving power and your perfect love. We lay down our lives and our plans at your feet, O God. Father, I ask that you hold Bill in your arms, Father; that you would speak hope and peace into his spirit. God, I ask that your healing spirit would blow through Bill's body O God. I pray that every molecule in his being would align according to your healing power. Father, give Bill the peace that passes all understanding and shower him with your presence.
God, you know the cries of Bill's heart. Lord, I pray that you would just offer him rest and comfort.
In the name of Jesus, we come against the veil of the enemy. We rebuke the enemy by the blood of Jesus. He has no legal right to be present; no legal right to stay. We claim freedom, in the name of Jesus, for Bill. Lord, we ask that you would send Bill discernment and that you would open his spiritual eyes, Father. We pray that you would show him, in a way that he would understand, your will for his situation and his life. Lord, we know that you want to use Bill for your glory and we pray that you would heavily annoint him with love and purpose. Thank you Jesus, Lord...we praise you.
Father, we ask that you would send your angels to watch over Bill; that they would guard the gates as you minister to his spirit, O God. Thank you Jesus, thank you Jesus. In your name...Amen.

You can keep praying. That is a good thing. God will prevail. Bill is suffering, but God knows that. Keep encouraging him during this time of unimagineable suffering. Just by being present, you bring healing and comfort as the body of Christ is meant to do. You are a good friend to him and your presence matters. God is at work, here. You can be sure of that. Just because he is silent for a little bit doesn't mean he isn't moving. Bless you and don't forget to seek comfort and support for yourself. We all need encouragement.

In the meantime, you can specifically keep praying for discernment and you can continue to claim victory over powers and principalities in the name of Jesus. The enemy has no authority there; he just needs to be reminded that Jesus is the boss. You can get permission to invite others and spend time tarrying for the Lord and see what happens. You can set up a prayer watchbill whereby people sign up to pray on the hour every hour, 24 hours a day. You can blog about it, call your friends, email coworkers, whatever. The more prayer the better. I will volunteer to pray at 10 PM every night. It's a start.

the bible says when Moses died, the people grieved for 40 days. I would give him time, having cancer can also bring grief I'm sure (though I haven't experienced it). and keep praying, but also give him some time

Your friend has a lot of overwhelming grief right now. It's ok to mourn!! Don't forget to remind him that in all death there is the hope of resurrection! He will see his family again.

GOD hears prayer. HE is not deaf. please never loose hope in HIS ability to save him. Remember HE raised JESUS from the dead! So He can do anything. I will pray for him here too.

I'm curious what you mean by something evil.

I'd guess your friend is depressed. These are horrible tragedies. He needs to grieve, and face this brush he's having with mortality.

You can live a life of Christ and feel sad at the same time.
This world, this life is a complicated thing. I don't begin to understand why God allows the horrors of the world. But I do know, that Christ's message helps. It gives us a light and a path.

But allow him to feel sad.
Don't fear it as evil-- you need not fear any evil. That's how evil grows, on fear. Its best just not to speak in terms of evil, for in that, you give it power. Just look to Christ's example.

But you should understand the nature of grief and depression-- there are ways to treat and approach it. Christ's message can help.

I want to thank you all for providing such profund wisdom to me and my beloved friend Bill ,I will be sure and tell him today of all the support he is receiving and outpouring of love and compassion from all of you ,and Tim praying everynight for him at 10 pm would be welcome help because that's the exact time everynight that I pray with him and I think it would be a tremedous help thank you all for all of your kind support
