Hey sis ♥ c:
I know how starting school can be a bit scary, but if you think of the reality that everyone else is nervous too, then suddenly, they become more like us- humans, and not a bunch of scary folk that want to bring us down in some way or another. And it also allows us to sort of feel compassionate towards them because they may feel exactly how we feel- nervous, shy, and self-conscious. Are you specifically scared that your classmates will influence you or that you'll be surrounded by classmates who practice sin? I'm currently in college right now and I'll be honest- I was pretty nervous on my first day. In fact, I was specifically worried about being around classmates who would swear excessively and talk about sexual/lustful things. It took me some time though to realize that everyone sins, including me. As obvious as that was.. I just felt like..since I was a Christian, then that somehow made me 'better' than other people. But obviously, that was not the case. I also found out that I couldn't depend on other people/strangers or the environment to make me happy. I mostly got my joy from the Lord..meaning, I would literally [and still do] watch a sermon, while listening to worship songs in very, very low volume in the background before class would start. That way, my spirit is filled and I literally feel much more calmer, at peace..and my heart is filled with His joy from spending time with Him. It also starts your day off right. Starting your day off like that can help change your frame of mind into one of hope, calm, joy, peace, and perseverance. : ) All I can advise for you is to not be afraid of talking to people. Approach them and say hi. Be friendly. I learned the hard way that if I keep to myself and don't try and talk to others or mingle with them [not saying you should let yourself be influenced by them and any bad habits such as swearing that they may have], but that you show that you are loving and accepting of others just as Christ was loving and accepting of us even though we stumble and sin from time to time. So if you shift your perspective in that way, it helps you to be more open and accepting of other people regardless of what state they are in. We need to realize that some people are in need of Christ's love and we can be examples of that. All the best to your education! Keep smiling and be friendly towards others. : ) It goes a long way. May our Heavenly Father strengthen you and fill your heart and mind with His peace, love, and strength. May He also lead and guide you throughout your schooling and help you with your school work and tests. In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I ask these things..Amen ♥
