Hello! I have horrible OCD that is right now getting better and better. I start school in a few days and I'm worried! What if I'm not happy there or anywhere? It's hard to describe and I have been praying to God sooo much and I feel like my fear is turning real! I just need to know it is not going to happen because God doesn't approve of it but why is everyone falling into sin? I'm just sooo scared! I need hope and prayers! I have been getting better and better and I feel like it is because I have been reading the Bible and praying a lot! If you need more details just ask! Thank You!

Hey sis ♥ c:
I know how starting school can be a bit scary, but if you think of the reality that everyone else is nervous too, then suddenly, they become more like us- humans, and not a bunch of scary folk that want to bring us down in some way or another. And it also allows us to sort of feel compassionate towards them because they may feel exactly how we feel- nervous, shy, and self-conscious. Are you specifically scared that your classmates will influence you or that you'll be surrounded by classmates who practice sin? I'm currently in college right now and I'll be honest- I was pretty nervous on my first day. In fact, I was specifically worried about being around classmates who would swear excessively and talk about sexual/lustful things. It took me some time though to realize that everyone sins, including me. As obvious as that was.. I just felt like..since I was a Christian, then that somehow made me 'better' than other people. But obviously, that was not the case. I also found out that I couldn't depend on other people/strangers or the environment to make me happy. I mostly got my joy from the Lord..meaning, I would literally [and still do] watch a sermon, while listening to worship songs in very, very low volume in the background before class would start. That way, my spirit is filled and I literally feel much more calmer, at peace..and my heart is filled with His joy from spending time with Him. It also starts your day off right. Starting your day off like that can help change your frame of mind into one of hope, calm, joy, peace, and perseverance. : ) All I can advise for you is to not be afraid of talking to people. Approach them and say hi. Be friendly. I learned the hard way that if I keep to myself and don't try and talk to others or mingle with them [not saying you should let yourself be influenced by them and any bad habits such as swearing that they may have], but that you show that you are loving and accepting of others just as Christ was loving and accepting of us even though we stumble and sin from time to time. So if you shift your perspective in that way, it helps you to be more open and accepting of other people regardless of what state they are in. We need to realize that some people are in need of Christ's love and we can be examples of that. All the best to your education! Keep smiling and be friendly towards others. : ) It goes a long way. May our Heavenly Father strengthen you and fill your heart and mind with His peace, love, and strength. May He also lead and guide you throughout your schooling and help you with your school work and tests. In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I ask these things..Amen ♥

Thank you so much for the kind words! No, none of my friends are in this sin because I go to a Catholic school (well it's not like we are perfect because we still do sinful things). But the sin is everywhere in the world. It is all over the media, news, etc.I am growing closer to God because I don't want to ever fall into this sin and the bible says it is a huge sin, but then I think what if the Bible isn't true? What if I'm reading it incorrectly because why would other people think it's right and fall into it? Maybe it is just the devil trying to persuade me to fall into it :s

Nicoala: What huge sin you be talking about?
Thinking the bible isn't true? http://www.faithfacts.org/search-fo...stians/how-do-you-know-that-the-bible-is-true
or is this about something different? if so, explain please?

Nicoala: You perhaps should say what this sin be? because it not clear to me exactly what sin you speaking about.

Praying for you to have peace over this. Its hard to see God's plans sometimes but you can take comfort in knowing that he is placing you where you need to be. As long as we believe Jesus is with us and continue to learn from his ways we will be blessed. Hope this helps, may the Holy Spirit guide you! Jesus is with You, God bless!

Hi Nickoala,

Regardless of what happens to you in your emotions, know that God is with you and loves you. We all can fall into states where we feel like an emotional wreck. However for me I have learned some thing over the years. If when we feel like we are about to loose control, we can resist it in the Spirit. By that I mean, the word of God says as Christians, we are the head not the tail, we are above only not benieth. That means our emotions can be steady, feeling at ease, feeling above not suppressed. The bible says Jesus became a curse for us that all curses against us come to naught. If we can stand on those thoughts, in our Spirit, say to God, "Your word says: I am above only, not below. I am not cursed because you were Jesus, You took the curse for me". If we can believe that, and stand on it, all will be good. God honors His word and we will feel strong.

Hello! I have horrible OCD that is right now getting better and better. I start school in a few days and I'm worried! ....

There is a subforum devoted to this condition, by the way.
http://www.christianforums.com/forums/obsessive-compulsive-disorder.598/

I occasionally post there because I have friends with OCD and know something about it through my relationships with them. Posting in Christian Advice is alright as long as you realize that mainstreaming your post in a general area will provide a wide range of perspectives.

If you look at the actual text you wrote, the thoughts are all bunched up. And it looks as if there were a bunch more thoughts that didn't make it to text before you called time by clicking on the 'SEND' button. The flood of thoughts and sensations and feelings that surround you as OCD are hindrances to experiencing what people like FutureAndAHope are talking about. It's easier for people without those sensations to perceive the unseen, but real spiritual realities.

For anyone, absolutely anyone, the battle for one's focus is fierce. The Battle for your focus is even tougher for you. You do have options on what you choose to focus upon. This is where all your strength needs to be exerted. If you focus on Jesus, specifically as Spirit Reborn was discussing, what you didn't focus on got deleted. This is a two step thing. There are earthly, 'practical' responses to OCD that our current science and therapeutic knowledge advises. The spiritual response relies on God supplying what you lack as you accept that Jesus has done everything needed for friendship with God.

People have written books and books about the earthly support of OCD AND books and books about spirituality. I believe the important connective link is that both categories matter. Do what you can with the tools of humanity. Remember that everyone has a burden to bear, a cross to carry. All those fellow students you are meeting? They are weak in some way. They struggle massively somehow. They hurt. They weep. You may feel your burden is heavier or more unfair than others. If you only knew how foster kids ache for true connections. How children from broken homes carry scars that run so deep. There is healing in knowing how we all fit together as we limp in various ways.

Thank you all so much for the helpful and faithful words. My thoughts are on everything sinful I see online or a tv show, video, news, etc.! Like I know this is going to sound absolutely crazy, but when I was like in fourth grade I was scared I was pregnant. Yes! Pregnant! I was literally afraid and thought it was so real. I didn't even know how you got pregnant, but I saw on this tv show me and my sister were watching that a girl got pregnant and I thought what if that happened to me? Crazy, yeah!I looked at the symptoms on if you were pregnant and it would be like tiredness, stomachache, etc. I remember thinking I'm so tired (when I wasn't) and I would be like its because I'm pregnant! I would remember feeling my stomache and I would hear my heartbeat but I thought it was the "baby"!!! Now it is like that, whatever I see on the media, I would think what if that is the same for me? Examples:murder(like getting murdered), getting the wrong feelings, becoming a bully, completely leaving God and thinking that He is not real, I would even worry about people dieing or me dieing. Yes I am seeing a doctor and I'm getting better because I have been leaning towards Jesus and Mary! Thank You for the help!

Thank you all so much for the helpful and faithful words. ...

Healing is some of the hardest work you will ever do. It's comparable to being an Olympic athlete or climbing a mountain. That is to say, healing emotionally and mentally... If you can see yourself in this way.. that you are working for a top tier goal it helps.

I'm really glad to see you came back and responded to your discussion. This could be a conversation, you know... Either way, God bless you in your school experience!

Well, keep your eyes on Jesus who promised to send us a helper.

If you have received the gift of salvation you have this helper living inside of you!

For me, even though I dont struggle with OCD which many, many people that post on christian advice do, i know that renewing my mind with Gods word by reading the bible rather than watching tv is the best thing. You say you watch tv a lot, no wonder you overloaded with all the cares and worries of this world! But its just the tv and half of it isnt even true, its made up!!!

JEsus is the way the truth and the life...follow Jesus. He will help you.
