I need help. How do I tell OCD thoughts from God?

For example I suddenly one morning just as I was waking up got a very clear and specific thought telling me that what I am doing now will not be preserved in heaven. And This really scared me. And makes me not motivated in my work cause it makes everything seem worthless. Please help me. Im scared. This was such a clear and cohesive thought out of nowhere that it makes me wonder if it really was God. HOW DO I TELL?!

That's how you can tell it's not from the LORD.

ll Like I said its discouraged me from my passion, which is music production. And its made me fearful about heaven cause my dream has always been to produce music in God's Kingdom. But to hear suddenly that that may not be there really disheartens me.

Jesus talks about rewards in Heaven. A lot of jobs do more harm than good. There was a book out a while ago called What Would Jesus Do. WWJD about how we can honor God in the work that we do.

At this point in your Christian walk, it is best to draw directly from God's word. Everything you need to know is in there. I recall when I was younger thoughts would enter my mind and I would wonder. I got some good advice that told me that until I was confident that what I heard in my spirit was from God, then just stick with scripture. When you hear His voice, you will know it. If you have doubts, then it is not.
As far as the thought you had, be aware of what the scripture says:

1 Corinthians 3:11-15 KJV
11. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13. Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Every work that is love, faith, and fruit of the spirit will be accounted to you. There is no need to worry. Just tell the devil:
"It is written, I shall receive an award for works that abide as gold, silver, and precious stones."

Also as for the rewards, it seems like depending on our good works here, we will get more rule over the new earth. Parable of Talents talks about this.

Yes, we need to use our gifts, talents and abilities to bring praise, honor and glory to God.

I hear things; my own thoughts, voices, Jesus, Holy Spirit, false Christs, demons.

And allllll of it at the end of the day needs to be compared to scripture. If it's overwhelming pray for peace. It will get quiet again.

If it makes it so you are discouraged chances are it's just an unnecessary thought.

Think about it, everything we do is recorded in Heaven, the sin is erased when we ask forgiveness. The little things we do can help people without us realizing it, even if it just helps you. And remember Joseph it says "From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the LORD blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the LORD was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field." -Genesis 39:5

So everything you do can be blessed by God.

Be ruthless with the OCD!

1. Consult a psychiatrist, not just a psychologist.
2. Attend a church that is good at dealing with mental illnesses.* (Not all of them are.)
3. Actually, ACT on our advice. Don't just keep asking again & again.
