Relax this isn't advice about my faith. it has to do with Pathfinders.

Out of all the things one can forget, the one thing you should never forget to announce is the registration date for Pathfinders! We joined with another church to form one big group. This past Saturday night we had Pathfinders registration. our director forgot to announce it, They called him on Thursday and by Friday he forgot. Luckily I spoke with the other director and we will have another registration "meeting" this Saturday and this time I will announce it at our church.

This guy should cleary not be co-director as he forgot this major/important announcment and he doesn't speak english. As director he should be able to speak the language of the country. During the registration I was at the table with the other director, where was he during registration? No where too be found. So my question is, how can I bring it up to the church to remove him as director? Should I speak to the pastor? We haven't even begun with the "big stuff" of the orginization and he has already proven to be irresponsable. What is the nicest way for me to "bump him off" as director and get me in. lets be honest ever since we started, I've been doing all the work and he's just been....well lazy.

If he's lazy, and you work hard, then I think that you should just keep doing what you're doing, even though you don't have the title of leader. Eventually, I think the church will see what's going on. If he continually fails to take responsibility, they should do something about it, but at this point, I don't think you would get anywhere by trying to force him out because of a couple of mistakes. It would only make you look petty and resentful because you were not chosen as the leader. If you take charge of what needs to be done, though, and keep working hard, it will put you in a better light so that when they need a new leader, they'll see your strong points and your experience and be more likely to consider you.

Have you confronted him about his lack of involvement? Perhaps this would be the best way. I am an assistant director for our club, and quite often I think our director is steering the club in the wrong direction. I speak my mind and then continue under her direction as she see's fit.

Ultimately, either your director will step down and hand the position to you; or, he will step up and fill the shoes of a great director.

At any rate, he is lucky to have an assistant who sees the needs of the pathfinders and is willing to serve.

Remember, sometimes you have to speak up. You are the voice of children who will rarely say what's necessary.

didnt you say that you go to a hispanic church? (then whats the problem of this guy NOT speaking English) ... Im sure he can learn English if thats the problem! (Its not like some1 has to be WAY smart to learn a language)...

About him being irresponsable, I believe that you should talk to him first (NOT bring it up straight to the church).

ask him why is it that he is missing the meetings and forgetting stuff? (ask him if he actually has the time required to take the responsibility of being co-director)

Just my humble opinion.
