Hello one and all!

I handle the requests that come in through "Contact Us" and as of late I've had a lot of messages from members who get through the signing in process with their name and password....CF tells them they're logged in...but they're brought back to the main page looking like a "Guest."

A couple things you can do to prevent this from happening:

1) Ensure that your browser cookies are turned on. And if you are running your browser in super-secure mode, make sure that you put www.christianforums.com in your list of allowed sites.

2) When you log in, check the "Remember Me" box next to where you enter your user name. This seems to help the system remember that you're logged in as you move from page to page. It will only remember you until you physically log out.

If you have any questions about this, feel free to contact me either here in this thread or my PM box. Or you can use the Contact Us link at the bottom of every CF page. ;)

It just did this to me and this is the first time I was able to get in after almost half an hour. Refresh didn't work for me :(. I first tried coming in with FireFox, but after telling me I had successfully logged in, it returned me to the Guest page. I deleted all cookies, cleared the cache and deleted my history to be safe, refreshed the page and it didn't work. Then I tried logging in with IE, which worked the first time, but when I tried again (to make sure it was working), the same thing happened there.

Now FireFox is working for me and IE isn't. This is all very confusing for one small person

I've been dealing with this for the last few weeks now. I put on my "away" tag and come back an hour later, click on my PM's that are flashing, and when I go to open the first one, or type out a reply I'll hit submit and it tells me I'm a guest and to register, I have to log back in.
Same thing if I get disconnected, even though I'm set for auto connect, I'll go to my Faves or PM's and Bam, I'm told I'm a guest and have to re-log-in...and I do use the remember me.

I'm also getting 15-20 re-requests daily to add friends already on my list, and have seen others disappear.

Help?

This is still doing this, and gets frustrating when you write a long PM or post and hit submit then it says you're a guest and to log back in..when I do 1/2 the time I get a blank white screen that says done at the bottom. Not only do I have to refresh and it still come up blank, but I have to go into my IE favorites and access all over again.
And yes the few times I do Log Out it says cookies cleared...even though I check the Reember me box

Make sure you allow your cookies alway for this site but I will add I been having alot of problem with other things updating IE to 7.

For me using the F5 for refreshing the page works but I don't go away for that long from the computer while in the forums, when leaving I just close out and come back later but there are times when I do forget to.

(Erwin) You can probably change the (session timout) in the vBulletin Option>Cookie and HTTP Header Options> Session timout, to see if this may aid in fixing this problem seeing you don't use a Who's online, it just might not hurt to up the settings on this. Note don't change anything esle in here but just that. hehe...

It tells me from time to time Cookies Cleared...but I'm not clearing them.
I haven't updated to IE7, it interferes with other programs I use.

When I do re-log back in I get a blank screen that sayd done.

And now it's doing it even when I'm AFK awhile.

Guess until it's fixed I'll just keep logging back in...but at least now I'm copying my posts before hitting submit, just in case.

It sounds to me you have something installed that is cleaning out your cookies every so often for you. Perhaps you can look at what your running and go through everything to see if you have some time ago set up something that would clean up your files like a virus scaning type every so often.

If you have used a tweak program or a program it might have change some things your internet explorer which you can check by right clicking on your internet explorer and then properties:

Make sure your cookie sessions are not changed and set to high, you can even add CF the allow list to see if this helps.

You can see what I'm talking about in few pics' I made for you.
