Yeah, I've heard of this type of theology before. I'd be willing to bet she read 'The da-Vinci code' and was sitting in the front row when the movie came out. Same arguments, the Catholic Church is the mother of lies and twisted Jesus' true message that God is in all of us and in everything. Jesus then went on to father a few kids and the Catholic Church has been hunting the bloodline to wipe it off the face of the earth to retain it's false power.

It is still there I just watched it. A well done video. It well demonstrates that the threat to Christianity is found outside of Christianity not just from inside Christianity as many Adventists have believed, whether from Roman Catholics or even right wing Christians. It is one more of the evidence that post modern Christian America is rapidly declining. Possibly due to the history of the fundamentalist Christians who would say there is only one way to God and that is Jesus Christ. Thus denying to Jews and all kinds of other religions that God could save any of those people if they did not know about Jesus. Rather then realizing that Jesus is God and that the only way to God is through God that no man can save himself. It is why it is so important to think about what you believe and be ready to answer without running to trite sayings and theological double talk.

Thanks Sophia! This is no new point of view though. It's been around for a long time. Is it because it's coming from someone like Oprah that some feel it means the 'end' is near (even better, the beginning)?

before Jesus you needed atonement through sacrifices of animals, but Jesus came to abolish the old law and establish a new one. And that is Salvation for all because he was the last and perfect sacrifice for our sin.

As for the people in the Old testament, I believe that once Jesus was resurrected, those that believed and had faith in God and were obedient went to Heaven because Jesus made a way. Before the resurrection those people enjoyed themselves in "paradise" or "Abraham's Bosom" when they died.

Shocked! No Oprah is just one of many billions of humans finding her spiritual path, she never claimed to be the leader of the Christian world. If people stopped putting others on pedestals just cos they are on tv every day and are megarich such things would not be shocking. The song says 'On Christ the solid rock I stand' it does not say 'Stand on the Oprah Winfrey show'.

We must be careful not to believe that what she decries must be true simply because we can find fault in what she espouses. Unless one can demonstrate conclusively that there is some purpose being served by our continued existence in this stage we have to admit that what we have always believed has not achieved what we hope for.

Didn't know she, personally, believed in that..but not really shocking to me. Pretty much 99% of that is what my mom believes and I was raised with. Except a stronger belief that there is a heaven, only that everyone gets in cause there is no sin or hell.

Maybe I'm just numb to it since I hear it every day, though.
