Beloved one, I once have thoughts like you but I was ashamed that I have not prayed and hope like the Lord. For I heard our Lord said:

“And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.””

Simon ! Simon ! If we paraphrase, the Lord is calling us who hear !

So let us pray for those who were lost and go astray that their faith fail not, though the devil may ask the Lord for them to sift as wheat. Let truly love them in prayers, that their faith fail not. And that when they returned to the Lord and that they may also strengthen the brethren.

For we heard:
“Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,”

Beloved one, yes, there are those who are called elders and overseer but your true guide to the truth is the Holy Spirit. Beloved one, I am concerned that you may not have found true elders and overseers mentioned in the Bible, that you may have disappointments and grow to be discontent. Beloved one, listen to the counsel of the Lord, that He has sent His helper, the Holy Spirit for you, and Holy Spirit will lead to the truth that the Father and the Son has spoken. Cling to Him and be blessed.

The New Testament word for "church" is ekklesia [ejkklhsiva], which means "the called out ones."

While the synagogue; the synagogue is the place where Jews and Gentiles gathered for instruction and worship in the New Testament period. The Greek word synagoge [sunagwghv] means "assembly" and can refer simply to the gathering of people itself ( James 2:2 ) or to the building in which they gather ( Luke 7:5 ).

Beloved one, consider whether you are like the Samaritan woman in John 4, that asked the Lord:

“The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.”

Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.””

Beloved one, are you not seeking a place of worship like the Samaritan woman? The Samaritan woman said to the Lord that you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship ? What would you say where is the place of worship ? Beloved one, let us consider what our Lord said where we should worship the Father. The place of worship is in Spirit and in truth.

Beloved one, you do not need to seek a gathering to worship the Father.

so what is gathering for, that is called synagogue or congregation?

This is what we have heard:
“And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:24-25‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

So the place of gathering is a place to stir the love of Christ as we serve one another and do good works, that we exhort one another and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

Beloved one, I consider that you should seek to be in the Spirit and truth, that you may worship the Father of our beloved Jesus Christ. For that is the place, where we should worship the Father.

Beloved one, I would like to share what Inhavr written before, that holds relevance to what you are going through, that you may be blessed.

This is what we have heard:
He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. -John 1:11

Dear one, didn’t you come to your own, and your own people, the christians who are in the church didn’t receive you ?

Won’t our Lord also be hurt and broken-hearted like you ? Yes, dear one, He is.

I have become a stranger to my brothers, an alien to my mother's sons. -Psalms 69:8

Dear one, didn’t you consider those who are Christians’ brothers in Christ? I understand that you suffered being treated like stranger and alien in the church.

For this is what we have heard:
For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. -1 Peter 2:21
He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth. -1 Peter 2:22
When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly. -1 Peter 2:23
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. -1 Peter 2:24
For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. -1 Peter 2:25

Have you considered Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you might follow His step ? Have you considered for this, that you have been called ?

So dear one, when you suffered from the Christians in your church? Have you entrusted yourself to Christ who judges justly or do you threaten or revile in return ?

Dear one, let us not revile in return but let us die to sin and live for righteousness.

For this is what we have heard:
“For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God.”

Dear one, if we believe that we have suffered for what is right, take it patiently, for it is commendable before God.

Dear one, if we believe that we have suffered for what is wrong, we repent and come back to abide in the Father’s grace.

Dear one, consider what apostle Paul’s desire and prayer despite what he suffered from the Jews who prosecuted him:

Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for them is that they may be saved. -Romans 10:1
For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. -Romans 10:2
For, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. -Romans 10:3

Dear one,in like manner, let also desire and pray for Christians who prosecuted us, that they may be saved. It is true that there are those Christians who have zeal for God but not according to knowledge of righteousness of God, for they seek to establish their own righteousness. It is true that some Christians in many churches have these transgressions.

But let us remember what we have been told :
Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. -Galatians 6:1
Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. -Galatians 6:2

“For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For each one shall bear his own load.”

So dear one, let us identify what Christ have spoken through His holy apostle. Let us restore in a spirit of gentleness those in the church who have transgressed. Let us ask our Lord the strength to bear one another’s burdens. Let us fulfill the law of Christ by loving one another.

Let us not deceive ourselves and let us not consider ourselves that we are something. Let us ask wisdom and understanding from the Lord, how we might rightly perceive our own work and rejoice. And pray that God grant us the strength to bear our own load.

Dear one, you are already accepted in the Beloved, Christ when you accept as Lord and Savior. Dear one, it is not important to be remembered, included and accepted by the church that you have gone to. For we heard:

Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. -Romans 13:8

So dear one, we don’t owe anyone anything except to love one another in accord with what Christ have spoken.

Dear one, let us remember what our Lord who loved us, said to us:

Jesus answered him, "If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. -John 14:23
Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father's who sent me. -John 14:24

Dear one, what greater joy and love that the Father and the Son come to us and make Their home with us, there is none like this.

Dear one, we can’t say that they are the church and we are not. The holy church is those whom our Lord sanctify, having cleansed by the washing of water with the word. Dear one, let us be careful with our own words, lest we makes wrongful accusations against the holy church of Christ.

For this, we heard:
Therefore we ourselves boast about you in the churches of God for your steadfastness and faith in all your persecutions and in the afflictions that you are enduring. -2 Thessalonians 1:4
This is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are also suffering' -2 Thessalonians 1:5
since indeed God considers it just to repay with affliction those who afflict you, -2 Thessalonians 1:6
and to grant relief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels -2 Thessalonians 1:7
in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. -2 Thessalonians 1:8

Dear one, have you considered yourself to know God and have obeyed the gospel of Lord Jesus Christ?

So dear one, let us humble ourselves before God, that He may give us grace. Let us refrain from all accusations, but let us follow Christ’s step, for to this we have been called.

When concerned about whether we judge or others judge us. This I pray:


Lord Jesus,
Let me not be provoked to judge others.
Give me strength to restrain myself, that I may not judge others.
Through Your Power, Holy Spirit, I bind and rebuke every wicked spirit that try to provoke me to judge others in the name of Jesus Christ.
(I bless the person who try to provoke me.)
I do not know what make this person provoke me with what they say and do and look.
Through Your Power, Holy Spirit, set this person free from the bondage of the enemy in the name of Jesus Christ.

I can not be sure I can fully know the path to follow Christ and have strength to take up my cross so I think I should follow the church unless I did know. I know I could follow Catholic Church to accept it as far as I know it teaches the truth that some follow ancient fathers that some follow truth to interpret it but I will not as I can not be sure it is truth still and I believe I may find support in Orthodox Church and I can seek Catholic Church to see if it is true to confess to them. Beloved one, are you concerned about the paths to follow Christ?
This is what we have heard:

“This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.”

Beloved one, are you concerned how to take up the cross. This is what we have heard:

Beloved one, don’t follow church, for the church meaning ekklessia is the called out ones but follow Christ.

For we heard:
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”- John 8:13

Beloved one, follow Christ and you will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life.

Beloved one, the places where Christians gather together is called congregation, what we should do there. This is what we have heard:

“And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”

So wherever congregation you go, consider whether they stir up the love of Christ and good works in Christ. Do they exhort one another ? If there are not, that is not the place you should be.

Thankyou for your kindness to want to help but I have not been able to have assurance that I know the path to salvation to know I am living in it or what to do to be saved. I believe the Orthodox Church does I believe know it has duty to prepare people though sometimes some priests do not take seriously if others are not taking seriously but there are always others and churches that are seeking to. I have not found another church that is able to give me assurance and to know the way and that seeks to fellowship to help so I have not gone to another church. I am not sure I will believe that I am following to have assurance to know the way and feel strengthened so if I don’t find I can I don’t know if I should go to another church but if I find one and I feel I know Christ and way I would like to follow it.

Beloved one, why you are unassured the path to salvation? What makes you unassured that you are not living in the paths to salvation? What makes not to know how to be saved ?
What preparation you are concerned about? What kind of fellowship you seek ?
