• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

About the OCD that are displayed in repetitive actions, like games for exemple. What is the difference between having an addiction to games and having OCD ?

I do know I was a very impulsive person but the compulsive behaviour is a much later thing. Few things really do get my attention, particularly when one is depressed for a while, like me...than when there is a spark for something that is what I will grab to release tensions, out of me.

For exemple: I find myself completely addicted to 4 games in a social net site, I go there to play hourly when possible, feeding my animals (Farm and Aquarium games). I enter my profile way more interested in the games than to chat or see what is going on with friends there or connect with people. I even forget to check scraps people leave. It seems the games interraction are way more pleasurable, easy to play, non-stressful and a great way to just relax..although I get worried and have to go there hourly to check my animals and collect my money etc.

How many of you guys are addicted to games too ?
Does depression and anxiety lead the way to compulsive behaviour in people?

Thanks.

yeah it sounds like a compulsion/obsession

but try to rest in His grace, when you have these feelings, and don't beat yourself up if you fail and act nutty like we all do on hear sometimes

I know you night not feel it when you're anxious but you have His grace and love either way :)
