Who raised Jesus from the dead? Would the Father or Holy Spirit need to raise Jesus from the dead, since his divinity didn't die? If Jesus raised himself up, does it mean he wasn't really dead? Someone help me pleeeease.

It was the Father who raised him from the dead.kiwiekat said:Who raised Jesus from the dead? Would the Father or Holy Spirit need to raise Jesus from the dead, since his divinity didn't die? If Jesus raised himself up, does it mean he wasn't really dead? Someone help me pleeeease.
Yes, Jesus was really dead. His death and resurrection assures the salvation of those who believe in Him. If He didn't really die, we're all in trouble. His body was dead and he went to talk to the spirits in prison or something like that. See 1 Peter 3:18-20. God, the Father raised Him from the dead as the above Scriptures indicate. You might ask the question, if Jesus is God then was He raising Himself from the dead? Then we get into the Trinity and that's whole different thread. One God in Three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The Bible calls it a mystery. 1 Timothy 3:16. Also see 1 John 5:7. Don't know if these are some of what's concerning you or if I've helped clear up anything or not...but I tried!But God raised him from the dead:
Ro 4:24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;
Ro 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Romans 10:9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Ga 1:1 Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead.
Eph 1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places.
Col 2:12Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
1Pe 1:21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
Yes, the "Spirit of God" is another name of the Holy Spirit. He has over ten names throughout the Bible. A good study for you!kiwiekat said:Thank you!!! I have another question about the Holy Spirit. When the scripture says "Spirit of God", does it refer to another title of the Holy Spirit? It kind of makes it sound like that the Holy Spirit is from God...but isn't he also divine in nature? What I mean to say is, I believe in the trinity and all, but the verses make the Spirit sound like he is less than the Father or less than Jesus. I know it's not true because there's a verse that says the Spirit didn't come to bear witness to himself but to Jesus. Hmm...did I answer the question myself? Anyways, are there other verses that show the Holy Spirit is God?
Yes according to the Bible all Christians who walk with Christ will be persecuted.kiwiekat said:This is so awesome, asking questions about God just makes me feel stronger. I have another question, lol, are all Christians persecuted? I've heard of things about the tribulation, but I'm not familiar with what it is...I'm just scared of it.
Well, it would seem ODD that He wouldn't be "divine" or even God Himself considering:kiwiekat said:Thanks!
I still have questions about the Holy Spirit. Are there verses that prove the Holy Spirit is God? It's just that when he is addressed as Spirit of God, it sounds like he is from God and not very individualistic or divine himself.
