Hey touching yourself by its self is not a problem. It is the thoughts that go along with it. If you can keep your mind clear there shouldn't be no guilt from that.
But it becomes a sin once you start to lust in your heart. If you start thinking of a girl while doing it then things start to get worse and worse. I myself am dealing with this or I am getting over this. It is a bigger problem when you start viewing porn. and stuff. I have fallen into that trap at a young age think I was 10 and it took me until a year and a half ago to realize it was a sin and took me until just a month ago to stop completely. But it isn't like it is that easy, once you start to do these acts, to just stop.

Well, not everyone agrees masturbation is wrong, but obviously you are being convicted that it is wrong. If it is causing you to lust or sin then its a problem, if it causes you to forgo other things that you should be doing its a problem, and most importantly if it is damaging your relationship with Christ then it needs to change or stop. Have you tried getting counseling or stuff? There is also an online course that you could use that is completely free and is really helpful in solving this problem. I know, I personally believe that masturbation is wrong, especially as a person who struggled greatly with it. I understand the burden that those that deal with it carry. I was just starting out my post that way because I really did not want to start a debate as the OP was not about whether or not masturbation was wrong or right. But I do admit, that my post may not have been entirely clear, so thank you for pointing that out to me

If you feel that it's controlling you, then maybe it would be a good idea to talk to a counsellor or someone so that you can share the burden. Also, don't try to completely stop all in one go - just try to cut down little by little until you feel comfortable - and try not to do it on a certain day at a certain time, or you will find yourself controlled still each time that day and time come. Pray to God for help and try to talk to someone - it's difficult enough to do without keeping it all bottled up.
I will pray for you and hope that you can be able to control it!

I do not think there is anything wrong with masturbation. You shouldn't feel guilty. When you try stop yourself doing something (like eating unhealthy food), I think it makes you more tempted to do it. Hope anything I said will help

BTW, women who never touch are rarely able to climax during marital relations. Something to keep in mind.

Simple: realize that masturbation is not wrong and don't try to stop it. Problem solved
The only problem here is that you (like many Christian brothers and sisters) have been indoctrinated to believe that masturbation is wrong. The fact that the Bible is silent about masturbation (while outspokenly against all other non-marital sexual activity) is positive evidence that masturbation is okay in the eyes of God.

i beg to differ... it is wrong and it is a sin.. as it is sexual impurity .. the best solution is to PRAY PRAY PRAY .... i dont really want to debate on this as my mindset is clear that it is mocking God... please pray if you have this problem

It's an "opiate", as I call it-its a drug used to put to sleep another desire that is healthy and being unfulfilled. The problem with masturbation/sex in general is that it can be used as a fake salve for emotional/psychological wounds. I believe you can easily see this by looking at all the fetishes there are. Fetishes bow to emotional wounds.
Do some research (start at wikipedia, they have good links) if it really bothers you. Chemically and psychologically, masturbation differs from sex in several ways, the primary one is that, unlike sex, it increases testosterone, which is in turn responsible for sex drive (for both genders). So you're only making the problem worse. Even if you don't touch, your body is still a "sexual being"; and this is where wet dreams come in at-for guys you have about 7 days, girls I believe is about 14 or so. So something's going to happen either way. Supposedly, if you make it that long, you have a build-up of hormones and there's a type of euphoria. ::sheepish grin:: So they say.
I hate being such a physical being. But if you can't completely dodge something, you can at least roll with the punch, hey?
