I hate to burden you with my relationship drama again, BUT....

I also must confess I probably slept with a dozen or so women even after being saved, that is why I need Jesus. I no longer sleep around but I use to and God said that fornicators will burn in hell if you go up in front of Him but I am positive that is if you go up in front of Him without Jesus as Jesus already paid for my sin.

It doesn't matter what sins are in our past or what burdens we carry in the present. Our future can be assured in Christ's salvation for all sinners.

I wasn't a virgin before I was married. Got saved, got divorced, and feel pretty right with God. You are right man. The debt has been paid. That poster Dionysiou makes me want to punch him in the face though. I'll have to work on that one =)

Well it looks like a whole lot of enabling and conforming Christian attitudes. "If society says it's ok, we do too!" but hey, if you're confident God will see it your way, go ahead.

The only time Jesus got mad was at the pharisees. When Jesus see other sinners, he just feels sorrow and sadness.

Well that was an interesting battle to read.
Going back to GRACIESING's issue. Was wondering how things went chickey and if you managed to end things, like you know your heart was leading you.
And I forget who said it, but give yourself time before trying this thing with the new guy. If you jump from relationship to relationship - you start to lose sight of who YOU are. And you become only what your partners say you are.

To answer that: I still haven't talked with her :( which I feel bad about....

I finally called and left a voicemail tonight. I rarely call her during week nights... But I didn't call her this weekend (and she didn't call me?!?) which is when we almost always talk.

So... I'm still stressing over that. This will be the first breakup where I'm doing the breaking, and I'm not completely sure how to handle it.... lol.

As for the guy... I have been getting into things with him, maybe more so than I should. So... like, almost everyone I have told says it's a rebound. It doesn't feel like one, but how would I know?

Maybe you should finish things up with your current commitment before even considering another, that may make things easier.

As an update, I'm breaking up by text because she still hasn't called me back.

It seems she's too busy with sports, drama productions, fighting with her sister, sleeping so her Mom won't tell her to do her homework, and drinking with her friends; to talk with me....

Oh. That. Girl.

I sent four or five texts explaining how I don't think the long distance is working and the things that bother me about her behavior, and ended it with message saying, "but I am still your friend and I love you, that won't ever change."

Her response to the entire thing:
" Love u 2
Life is lemonade so pucker up"

ummm.....

That says it all honey, about why you made the right decision. What a way to flame out a relationship. No class, no respect, not a problem. You are made for so much more girl. I am proud of you though!

I disagree with your assessment. I do not see in the responses on this thread an attitude of conformity or enabling. I do see compassionate people encouraging a young lady to end a relationship that isn't beneficial for her. I do see wise people advising her not to date anyone for a while as she heals, because breaking any relationship - even a non-romantic friendship - is often painful. I see people with the love of Christ offering support to a teenager, knowing that often teenagers don't really know who they are or what they want yet and are especially vulnerable to harsh words and attitudes. Sometimes those who bring such harsh words and attitudes can cause permanent damage on teenage hearts and minds, even without intention. And I see people staying true to their own convictions without feeling the need to lash out at others.

And I do believe my position is in harmony with God's Word, as He revealed Himself through Christ. Jesus Christ was compassionate and respectful toward prostitutes, towards women caught in adultery, towards the woman who had 5 husbands and lived with a man she wasn't married to, towards the thief on the cross next to Him, towards a man who betrayed Him, towards a man who denied Him, towards people who were possessed by demons and dark forces... etc. Over and over again, Jesus offered compassion and dignity to the least acceptable in "good society," those shunned and condemned by the religious elite. Offering compassion and respect is not the same thing as accepting what you believe to be unacceptable. I don't believe for a minute that Christ thought the behaviors of these people were acceptable or right... just the same as any other liars or cheats or supposed minor offenses you or I may commit in our human weaknesses... BUT that's why He came to SAVE US ALL. And He gives all of us His righteousness, knowing we are unworthy but loving and accepting us into His kingdom anyway.

Christ said "I forgive you, go and sin no more. I see everyone doing the first part, even becoming defensive! But who is encouraging the second?

also lol @ the "legal eagle" internet heroics, you got me good man, you got me good!

Anyway i'm satisfied, carry on.

It's all good. Just remember that even in sin, God is leading and teaching all of us =) That includes me as well!

I sense narcotics...

It's possible that she recently changed her text message signature to "Life is lemonade so pucker up."

Still... lol, exactly, you have to wonder how that seems like a reasonable response to a break up
