Macrina (again),
One of the greatest sermons I've ever heard was given by Richard Rogers at a retreat in Estes Park CO he entitled "Fools for Christ", taken from 1 Cor 4, encouraging us to endure the world for the sake of Christ.
This might also encourage you as Paul speaks to the Corinthians (just past the "We are fools for Christ's sake" verse) concerning their (his and Apollos') experiences on their behalf (emphases mine):
"11To this present hour we are both hungry and thirsty, and are poorly clothed, and are roughly treated, and are homeless;
12and we toil, working with our own hands; when we are reviled, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure; 13when we are slandered, we try to conciliate; we have become as the scum of the world, the dregs of all things, even until now."
You know what? From what I've read of your comments to others - this describes you as well.
Blessing when reviled
Enduring when persecuted
Conciliatory when slandered
...and I would add - sensitive, as in possession of a heart and soul of a child that is His.
You fool for Christ you!
Again, grace to you, sister.
(It's not often we get to encourage one another with words like "scum," "fools," "dregs" - but that's what we are in the world's eyes!
