Hubby and I made the final decision recently...we're ready to start a family!!
What I really want to know is where to start. Any tips, encouragement, and advice would be great. I've already been browsing online for articles to increase our chances of conceiving.

check out the book Taking Charge of your Fertility.

Try to relax (especially if you have regular cycles). Most couples do conceive quickly (within 6 months), but if it has taken over a year then get to a Dr (or if you realize you aren't ovulating).

I like OPK tests - that way you can see when you are ovulating. You can also take your temp. (which can tell you when you ovulated)

I plan on reading Your Green Pregnancy (I think that's the title) for when my spouse and I begin actively trying again (in the Fall). I agree with AJ, start taking prenatals. THey are great for your hair and nails anyway ;) Get a pre-conception ob/gyn appt to talk about your concerns during this time. If you are at all able, I would steer clear from caffeinated drinks and any other chemicals while you enter the "possible" pregnant stage. If you haven't already done so, get started with a gentle exercise regime. It is not a good idea to wait to become pregnant to begin an exercise routine at all. You should consider a ttc journal where you can keep track of your cycle, the changes that occur, et cetera and as a way to jot down your feelings during this time. It will become a keepsake but it could also serve as a reference guide in case you do experience any difficulties ttc. Lastly, let's not forget your spiritual preparation, you should spend time in quiet mediation focusing on God and His desire for your future as a mother.

Basically, try to find ways to prepare yourself physically, emotionally and spiritually. Best wishes and most of all the best advice I can offer is to HAVE FUN!!!
