Thats what I love about the PSP. You dont need all the extras to play the movies/music/picture viewer.

Also, there are 2 Final Fantasy titles for the PSP that have been announced. The first, Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core. And the second, Final Fantasy VII:Advent Children. Advent Children is a movie in UMD format derived directly from the FFVII storyline.

Anyways, Ken Kutaragi, SCE president, said they plan on making and additional option to use the PSP as a phone (not sure how that is possible). So that will be cool.

Anyways, I know it is not on topic for the DS, but just some interesting news.

Oh yeah I posted somthing about that on page 4 I warn you it will be 2d so if you dont like the classics (I DO) then you probaly wont like it.
Also Nitendo has made its first real jump into online gaming with its IQue System released in china (Nitendo America has made no formal anoucements on picking the system up.) the IQue is a controller that ports N64 games through Downloadable flash cards and Nintendo has anounced the IQue will go ahead with online gaming within months.

cool,
cool,
and I LOVE 2D old classic games!
But still,
1. Metroid Prime: Hunters.
2. Super Mario 64
3. The Sims

They're great!
Without Nintendo they'rd be NO video games, because Nintendo made Sega compete which got Sony involved later and same with Microsoft.
So ya gotta love Nintendo!

I chose the PSP because:

Functionality
Better quality screen
Very durable (PSP got forcefully knocked from my hands and hit the ground HARD, no damage)
More games I like
Firmware updateable
Capable of better graphics (yes, I like to play games that look good, though thats nothing without good gameplay)
Better quality speakers. (It sounds alot better IMHO)
Has an analog nub

There were gaming systems out before the original NES.

Yeah discs. are cool but they have one major draw back thy`re really easy to copy I mean this could destroy the gaming world for every one thats why I would encourage buying Nintendo products and the Ds over the PSP because Nintendo Makes sure their games are really tough to copy.

Yes, but it may also prove their undoing. Sony have championed the PSP's ability to play films, yet many won't ever see themselves on a UMD format because of Sony's insistence that only they can make the discs. That said, they have bought the rights to put MGM's entire film library on UMD.

Me and my friends made a bet that 5 days after the PSP comes out, someone somewhere will have "hacked" or "modded" theirs. Copying UMD discs is nothing to be concerned about, at least not for a veeeeeery long time.

As for DS....I got my bro one recently and he didn't like it. I'm using it and it's pretty cool. I'd prefer the PSP, but this thing is still a nice piece of hardware.
