Michelle,
I think you are right. I was talk on the phone with "L" last night. I have almost nothing bad to say about my EXs wife of girlfriend. I was saying when an event with one of my past relationships is a good illustration I feel its an honor I give to my EXs to mention them. I also mentioned to L that she could speak of her EXs as well and it wouldn't bother me. To which she replied her relationships weren't like that and she would tell me some time. I say when your ready.
So it sounds like she has some hurt, nature of which I don't know.
But I am hearing more about this type of thing. Even if people get past it and have a good relationship the hurt isn't getting healed. Its just buried it seems. Divorce Care I saw more of that. Sweet people who have a hurt why down deep. Women are obvious, because so many have had drunks, men the blow their paycheck, who don't give or give very little emotional support, etc.
But one group I know of, are teaching that men are very hurt because of the sexual denial they have experienced in life. I'm just starting to understand this. I'm starting to see it in posts now, where I didn't understand it at all in the past. The sad part is that these deep pains, traumas we each have can form a circle of denial that just keeps the pain going. Sadly, that was one aspect of my marriage and my marriage wasn't any where near as bad the stories I read and hear about.
