"Your calling". Until last year, the two words wouldn't have phased me, but thanks to some "things" that happened, the past year has been total chaos for me. I've wanted to do one thing, other people have wanted me to do another, I didn't know who to believe, I don't even know if I can believe myself anymore. When I think God's telling me to do something that I want to do, I sometimes deny it because of how brainwashed I've been into thinking that other people's visions are supposed to be my visions. When I think He's telling me something that I don't want to do, I get on the defensive and wish that it could be what I ORIGINALLY wanted to do, but always block it out because I think that what I want to do is wrong because nobody else thinks I should do it!!! DAAAAHHHHH!!!! People, for future references: Watch what you say around and to people who are weak in faith. I've grown considerably in the past year, but am still struggling with this, when if I were strong back then, I'd have been able to discern. As you can see I'm a very confused child. Please pray.
Quiet Storm,
Would it encourage you to know you're not alone.

Many of us struggle when we start moving in the direction that God has called us.
Would you believe that even Phil Driscoll has struggled with it. In case you don't know, he's an incredibly well-known, talented and anointed by God, trumpet player.
I have a tape of a worship seminar I went to about 4 years ago where he was on stage ministering. As he talked, he said (no lie), "I've struggled for years with what does God want me to do". Can you emagine? The congregation laughed at such a thought. He continued, "all I know how to do is blow".
Quiet Storm, just do what you know how to do. Nothing else. As you continue in your walk with God you'll learn more things. Then you'll know how to do more things, and as you learn you can do them. Until then, don't listen to anyone but God, and people who know you well enough to guide in the right direction.
If you start something and you find that it does not fit you, it does not matter. Keep your eyes on God and He will keep you on the path your supposed to go.
No one should be telling you "what" your called to do. . . Only guiding you. People can incourage you in areas that they see strength, but that in no way obligates you to do what they say.
Now, that does not mean that being under authority that you do not need to do what your authority tells you "for the moment". It also does not mean that what you are doing for the moment is yours for eternity.
Hopefully you understand what I mean.
God bless,
Quaffer
