• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

but see, i don't know if I believe in Jesus and the doubts are really strong, when I think about it, it makes me want to cry, because now maybe God has let go of me. how can i pray to him when im doubting if He is what He said He was in my mind the whole time. it just scares me that Im not going through as much torment (i get worried and I constantly think about it--but nothing like before) as I did whenever I have doubted my beliefe before. what if I really have committed the uf-sin and God has just left me.

but see, i don't know if I believe in Jesus and the doubts are really strong, when I think about it, it makes me want to cry,

The reason it makes you want to cry is because your spirit and heart know Jesus is real. Therefore doubts and fears that are in your mind but not in your spirit and heart make you want to cry.
An unbeliever would never want to cry over unbelief.
However true believers want to cry when their natural mind has doubts.
The natural mind is carnal and therefore will have doubts.
It is okay to come and talk to Jesus about fears and doubts because Jesus heals the broken hearted and knows that we cannot fix ourselves.
Jesus comforts and heals and makes all things new.
It is okay to come to Him and cry and tell Him our problems and ask for help because He is a High Priest who is touched by our infirmites.
He has mercy and compassion for us and sets at liberty those who are bruised.
We can come to Jesus just as we are bruised and hurting and with any mistakes.
Jesus will comfort and heal us.
He is our Everlasting Father and Redeemer and this is why Jesus died for us.
He was wounded for our transgressions and by His stripes we are healed.
Also the bible helps us renew our minds so that day by day our minds are washed by the word.

because now maybe God has let go of me.

Father God has already given you to Jesus as a precious gift and Jesus will never leave you or forsake you and none shall snatch you out of His hand.
You are sealed by the Holy Spirit til the day of redemption.
Jesus has bought you with His own blood. You are not your own you are bought with a price, the blood of Jesus.
Jesus knows how to protect His own.
He is the good shepherd
You are a gift to Jesus from Father God.
Done deal.
Nothing shall separate you from His love.

Romans ch 8
37Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Jesus speaks truth.
Jesus is Truth.
and the truth makes us free

how can i pray to him when im doubting if He is what He said He was in my mind the whole time.

We are to come to Jesus and pour out our hearts because Jesus cares for us fears and all.
We come to Jesus just as we are.
Disregarding our carnal minds and doubts and ocd ,we still come.
Jesus knows we cannot fix ourselves.
Jesus knows we can do nothing of ourselves.

John 15:5
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Jesus came to heal the broken hearted and set at liberty them who are bruised.
We just come to Him with all our bruises hurts doubts fears and mistakes,no matter what our carnal mind tells us or ocd or anything.
Jesus gives us peace and strength and hope.
Jesus fixes us and makes all things new.
All we have to do is come.
We are a gift to Jesus.
He will protect us since we belong to Him and He is the Good Shepherd.
He laid down His life for us.Bruises and weaknesess and doubts and all.

it just scares me that Im not going through as much torment (i get worried and I constantly think about it--but nothing like before) as I did whenever I have doubted my beliefe before.

If ocd loses its power to hurt us by tormenting us it tries to find a new way to torment us.
Such as you should be more scared.
That is the nature of ocd.
The fact is you are a gift to Jesus from Father God whether or not you are scared and none shall snatch you out of His hand and you shall never perish.
You are not your own.
Jesus knows how to keep and protect His children,
His gifts from Father God.
Jesus is the Good Shepherd.
Jesus is love and love never fails.
Fears or no fears you were bought with a price and you are not your own.
You are a gift to Jesus and Jesus protects His own by His almighty love and power.

what if I really have committed the uf-sin and God has just left me.

It is impossible for Jesus to have left you.
It is impossible for Jesus to lie.
Jesus said I will never leave you or forsake you.
Jesus said He would in no wise cast you out.
Jesus said none shall snatch you from His hand and you shall never perish.
Jesus is Truth.
Father God gave you to Jesus .
Jesus will never leave you or forsake you.

I thought I was guilty of that too, however I was wrong, same as you are wrong.
Jesus never left me as per His promise.
Furthermore I was coming to Him,which meant Father God gave Me to Him ,which meant He would not cast me out and I would never perish and I was not my own to protect I was bought with a price,Jesus own blood.
Nothing will snatch Me out of Jesus hand, nothing will snatch you out of Jesus hand.
No doubts or fears or any emotions.Nothing will.
Done deal.

Blessings

I have been in the same boat as you, when you say " i want to want Him" I struggled with that for a long time. The ocd has gotten your mind so stressed and worn out. Its not that you dont want Jesus, its that you dont want to struggle with this. It is evident that you want Jesus. It doesnt matter how much or how little, when you come to a point where you take it by faith, you will grow in love with Him more.

When doubts come in your mind, just say to yourself " i give that responsibilty to Jesus" . A person with ocd sometimes feels responsible by having it just right in their heads, or have to feel right with the right thoughts. But we have to understand, thats its not our responsibilty to "make it right". It rest totally on Christ, and His work. Try not to feel that you have to "understand it just right" or have a certain feeling when you think of the things of God. ( i hope this is helping)

Martin Luther had many doubts in his early years as a christian, and even through out his life, but he took it by faith and trusted that he was Jesus'. He lead the reformation in the 1600s and was used by God to do mighty things.

You can go to google.com and type in "rethinking the unthinkable" and click on the one by Steven Phillipson, Ph.D. It will help you understand a little more about ocd and how it works, this way it will help you understand some of the stuff that your going through. I hope it helps and will be praying for you. Let me know how it goes.

But I'm losing my belief, I dont think I believe He's real anymore, and I really want to and it scares me, cause I want to believe. I would much rather believe that I had commited the uf-sin and worry about that then worry if I truly believe or tha God has given up on me...

Don't worry about if you want to believe or not, have a long, hard think about you, the world around you, and then if you still don't believe then just accept that you don't believe. Maybe it'll strengthen your beliefs, which would be good, too. Don't try and be something you're not, because it'll just feel wrong to you. Really, though just sit and have a think about everything, but definitely don't try and force yourself to believe if you don't anymore.

Caty,
I absolutely know and am 100% certain Jesus has not left you and He never ever will.
We have His word that you are a gift to Him from Father God and Jesus is the Good Shepherd and knows how to protect and keep His sheep. He laid down His life for His sheep.Jesus will in no wise cast you out.
Jesus will never leave you or forsake you Caty never ever.
You are sealed by the Holy Spirit til the day of redemption.
On top of that Caty it is so very very apparent to me how much you love and want Jesus.
That is because Father God gave you to Jesus.
All that the Father has given Me will come to Me and he that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out.Jesus own words and Jesus is Truth.
Whosoever will may come.
Jesus is not letting you go Caty, not ever. You are His sheep.
I know how very scary and real the feelings can get and I know how ocd troubles our minds.I understand how it hurts and confuses.
Jesus understands and He loves you and cares for you and is holding you in His hand and protecting you and bringing you through this. You will never perish.

God will never tell you there is no hope.He already saved you and you are not your own,you have been bought with a price. You belong to Jesus forever.Jesus will never leave you or forsake you.
Jesus plan for us is to give us a hope and a future.

Sometimes people get busy or have extra family responsibilities for a time.Sometimes people take a rest. They have not stopped caring or think you are hopeless and this is most definately not a sign.
Some people may be extra ill at times as well.
I think this site can get slow and then back up.
There has not been as many posts for awhile.
Sometimes I am online less because I get busy with family needs or need resting time.

The people here care for you very much Caty and them not being online as much this summer is not a sign.

You are a child of the Most High God forever.

God has absolutely not left you Caty,I am sure of it.

love

Our FAITH doesn't save us. JESUS DOES!

True but you said that when we look to our faith that was the devil that is what i was responding to .. I know we are not to put our faith in faith but we are saved by Grace through Faith . What do you define as faith ? In the greek it is usually defined as assent or trust pistis ..or hupostasis”which is the title deed
It may be more benefecial for you to explain what you mean by faith ? This is a suggestion not a correction for the record i think you are a loving person and i am glad that you are helping Caty she deserves it ...

i jsut dont have much desire for anything but to be suddenly changed into who i used to be, i dont know if i want Jesus, I dont have much desire to read the Bible, none to go to church. I dont have even much desire to get on here anymore, that scares me that i might have committed the uf-sin, but then again that doesnt even scare me as much as it used too. i just hate this and i want it to be over so bad!! I want to want God, and i want to be a good person with a good heart.
