The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

Just a gentle reminder of the guidelines for this area
Endorsement of certain topics (Endorsement means you can't post to encourage someone to engage in these behaviors or indicate that they are acceptable choices.)
Recovery is a place people come to stop doing these things and using the Christian faith to help cope with problems. Other areas of CF can be used for discussions of many of these topics including, in some cases, endorsement of them. Included in this rule is posting triggers to self harmful behaviors.

- Polygamy
- Extramarital or premarital sexual activity
- Masochism/Sadism/Bestiality/Pedophilia or other paraphilia.

- Pornography
- Self-Injury/Suicide
- Eating Disorders
- Belief in reincarnation
- Use of psychics, astrologers, etc.

Praying for you, brother.
It is a very hard struggle... and I can't promise that it will end, or get easier. But what I do know is that God gives you grace for each day, and he will never ever let you go.
I would advise you to be open with your friend.... tell him that you are a Christian and trying to walk in God's will.
God loves you, so much, and He is blessed by your faithfulness.
