Two medical sources have been cited that show the fetus is a parasite. No offence, people, but deal with it. The fetus is a parasite.
I haven't see those sources. I saw a couple of links to other posts here on CF. Could you provide them again?

Sorry, but the leading Ob/Gyn text in the US specifically states that "the fetus is an efficient parasite". That's using it as a noun, calling it a parasite. That's about as definite as it can be in saying that the fetus is a parasite.It is describing the fetus as a parasite under certain circustances. It is not being used as a noun, but is describing the actions of a fetus as being LIKE a parasite, not that the fetus IS a parasite.
That's not what was stated in the two references given.If I said that you were built like a horse, would that literally mean that you had four hooves, ears that could twitch and a long tail? Or would it be a description that paints a vivid picture.
We can discuss solutions any time you want. As has been previously said, I don't think there can be any solution as long as the possibility of preventing women from having abortions by law is on the table.Now, can we please move on from parasite and discuss solutions?

Universally available free implanon, distributed through schools, universities and community health centres, along with immunisations, would effectively stop non-medically required abortions.

The statement that those debating you "don't seem to see value in the lives of the unborn" is a bearing of false witness against us. That we oppose criminalization of abortion as a bad public policy, which no one has been able to refute, in no way implies we do not see "value in the lives of the unborn". Shame.
But unborn humans do have some parasitic qualities. I don't see how stating what these people see as just how things areI would say the term parasite used to describe the unborn child is quite enough evidence to prove that at least some people on here do not value the life of the unborn. I have never known anyone who valued the life of a parasite.

Also the medical dictionary cited doesn't deal in "like a...". It gives the criteria for a parasite; a fetus obviously fits.

Regarding lowering the number of abortions, I don't think there's much room for a solution there, either, because typically the people most against abortion are also against the things that would lower the abortion rate - increased comprehensive sex education and increased availability of contraceptives.
