"This is my beloved Son, and I am fully pleased with him. Listen to him." The disciples were terrified and fell face down on the ground. Jesus came over and touched them. "Get up," he said, "dont be afraid." (Matt. 17:5-9)
"Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?"
"Who are you, sir?" Saul asked.
And the voice replied, "I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting! Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what to do."
The men with Saul stood speechless with surprise, for they heard the sound of someone's voice, but they saw no one! (Acts 9:3-7)
Someone also mentioned Samuel, a very good example, especially since he was so young, I think that is awesome. It is in Samuel 3:2-18 (this one is neat cuz it happens in the Tabernacle next to the ark of the covenant. Isnt that neat, Samuel got to sleep next to the voice of God, in God's tent!)
Just some scriptures for you.
I know many people try to say it is in the mind and all those chemicals. What a bunch of whooey! We hear the voice of God, because we belong to him. Goes great with the- I didnt choose him he chose me scripture, from the gospel of John.
I have heard him audibly a couple of times. The first time was when he told me he loved me no matter what. And another time, he called my name. For that one, I did a Samuel, got up and went in to my mom and asked what she wanted, lol. But it wasnt her, it was God speaking to me! (He just did it in a way like I am called by everyone in my house to go and do something for them, lol. By name.).
So you are not alone. You are not nuts. There really is a God, and he knows who you are. Whether people accept it or not, he does still speak.
God Bless
