Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord."
Romans 3:25a "For God sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to satisfy God's anger against us."

I am just a regular human but if somebody does something to hurt or upset me I can forgive them, so why can't God?
Do you really believe that most of the population are destined for 'hell'. It doesn't make sense!!
We in the SA are not fundies and don't have to take the Bible literally. Thank God!!

elm0 said:I didn't say anything about destined for hell, what I said was that we all deserve hell. I believe that God has made it quite clear that we have ALL sinned, and that we ALL deserve punishment for it, and hell is that punishment, separation from God for eternity. But, because of His love for us He has made it possible for us to return to Him. We decide our destination, by either accepting or rejecting Christ.
You're right, we don't have to take the Bible literally, and that's another choice each person has to make for themselves. But think about this: If we aren't going to take the Bible literally, then we don't need to love one another, so we're all wasting our time helping others when we don't need to...
sawitch said:So, what you're saying is that we only need to love and help others because the Bible tells us to and if we don't believe the Bible it's a waste of time to do so?
What happened to good old human compassion?![]()

I'm afraid Hell appears not to be PC any more.![]()
