I can't see characters in posts

I posted this in the character bugs forum earlier, but no one seemed interested to fix this. I can't see characters on posts, only (regular) avatars. I can see characters on people's profiles (they're tiny though so there's not much to see). In my settings I have enabled everything I should enable in order to see them. In the old (and much better) CF I had no problems whatsoever.

I have created a character with my other account, and I can't see characters with that account either (including my own).

The characters were what made CF special to me, so it really annoys me that with the new CF I can't see them anymore. Please help.

No, it's still the same. I've PMd ravenscape about this, but she can't find out what's wrong, either.

Update: nothing has changed, I still can not see anyone's character, including my own! Does anyone have any clue about what might be wrong? If not, ask all your friends - because this is the most annoying problem for me, and as a result I really hate the new CF.

RebekkaH, have you tried clearing all cookies? Try that and see if it fixes the problem. Go to "Tools > Internet Options > Delete temp files, cookies, passwords etc.. then click OK, close your browser and start again. Hope it helps.

RebekkaH, I am posting in here as my issue is a character issue as well.

I can't create my character. Each time I go to edit my doll, in the doll canvas section is an error message saying that I am not logged in although I am logged in as it has my username and details at the top of page. Could the two issues be somehow related?

They might be related. I know of someone (purplecloth) who can't see pictures in signatures. So the new CF is definitely problematic for several users while the old CF never was in this respect.

The weird thing is that tonight I've been able to see my character once, but only very briefly, and I didn't see it when I tried to go back to that post - so it was only a bug in a bug I think. I still can't see anyone else's character, and I haven't seen my own character since.

Since you haven't had any suggestions from techs/admins/mods - wondering if it could be a browser problem? Though it shouldn't be - what browser are you using? Is it explorer 6? What wouldn't hurt is to change browser such as firefox and see it it helps. You wouldn't have to delete your current one, just download it and try it and if it doesn't work, just unistall it again.

The download it's fairly quick and not complex at all, here's the link http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/, can't think of what else it might be, as I am able to view characters.

Oh - I hope it isn't, because I'm hopeless when it comes to computer things, I'm hardly aware of what a browser is - yes, I'm that dense, sorry. I have explorer, don't know the number.

I installed mozilla and am using it now. I still can not see characters - only now, I'm not able to log out, either! So mozilla is worse IMO than explorer.
How do I uninstall it?

Well, at least now we know it is NOT my browser.

Since I installed firefox, I am no longer able to log out. It keeps sending me back to my logged in status. I am able to log out when using explorer.

It's very annoying. And my other bug - not being able to see characters no matter what I try - is extremely annoying, too. Please help.

OK Rebekka, like you said at least you now know it's not explorer and not cookies either - so gotta be CF!!!!! But where are the techs to at least knowledge your post???

To uninstall mozilla go to >Start > Control Panel > Install/Unistall Program, a window with a few/a lot of programs in there. Search for Mozilla, they go in alphabetical order. Once you have located Mozilla, highlight it and click "Remove/Change" program and then unistallation should begin. If you have any problems, I will come back and check here again. I am sorry I couldn't be of anymore help

Rebekka, I am sure the reason why you can't log out is because firefox has remembered your password, which simply means that it has stored it for you. Most likely what happened was that it asked you to save it and you didn't realize this and accepted. I am sure once you unistall firefox like I explained on your other thread, you will be ok

Oh, I didn't realise that! I tried to uncheck "remember me", but it kept checking it - arg - frustrating when a computer makes the decisions for me!
