Hi Bob8102,

Welcome to the family of believers in Jesus Christ! This is such great news to hear that you have put your faith in Jesus for your salvation.

My encouragement for you as you begin your new journey is to do what I was told the very night I gave my life to Jesus: Get in the Word of God and stay in the Word of God. In other words, start reading your bible every day. Start in the gospel of John (located in the New Testament, half way through the bible), and read a chapter or two each day. When you finish John, go to the beginning of the New Testament and, still reading a chapter or two each day, start in the book of Matthew and read all the way through to Revelation.

When you finish the New Testament in its entirety, repeat that process again, but add in a chapter or two of the Old Testament along with it - or one day, read from the New Testament and the next day read from the Old Testament. You will repeat this process of reading your bible throughout your Christian journey. It will grow you in your faith, help you understand what God's will is for your life, and teach you to walk with Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit who now lives within you.
