I am quite unexpectedly sick today. It just happened so randomly and I rarely get sick. But I had to go to the emergency room this morning. And now I have the next two nights off of work.

Oh what a day. A very NOT fun day.

I am hoping you get feeling better.

I am listening to Phish.

I am also thinking how I need to remind myself for this thread alone to put "I am".

I am hoping you get feeling better.

Thanks Im. I appreciate the concern. It's just a very odd thing, early this morning about 5am while I was at work I started to feel a little light-headed and dizzy and for a second I htought maybe the soda that I was drinking was getting to me but I thought "No that can't be right, soda never affects me that badly". So I went home from work and it was sort of okay but I still felt kind of funny. At about 6:30 am I frosted some cupcakes I made yesterday and then I hopped on here and started to type that dating thread.

I was halfway through my post when I started feeling dizzy/nauceous again and had to look away from the screen but the head movement made me even more sick. So I qickly finished that post as best as I could and thought that maybe all I needed to do was go to sleep. Well the second I laid down the nausea hit worse than ever and even with my eyes closed the room felt like it was spinning.

That sent me to the bathroom where...if this isn't TMI...there was lots of puking going on until all I was doing was dry heaves, ones so hard it was bringing up stomach bile. I called my mom and she seemed very conderned and worried that I might need to call 911 if I ever felt like I might pass out. Well that kinda scared me because I had actually had a feeling like that a little earlier, like I was going to pass out. (even talking to people made me sick)

So I called my sister and asked her if there was anyone who could watch the kids she nannies so that she can take me to the urgent care center here. She brought me and it was miserable the whole time. In the car...out of the car...I was heaving so hard my stomach was forcing up bile and my throat had started to hurt.

Long story there...HAHAHAHA. I know. But come to find out I have an "inner-inner" ear problem. Not the inner part of your ear that causes an infection and hurts. It's further in and they said it is usually viral and it causes you to feel dizzy and lightheaded, feelings like vertigo. That inner-inner ear deals with your sense of balance and equlibrium and so that's why I felt dizzy and the constant imbalance my body was feeling was causing me to always feel naucous.

They gave me an IV and a few things to try to calm the dizzyness and nausea. I felt mildly better but they weelchaired me out to my sisters car and she slowly brought be in the house and as soon as I was stationary on my bed I was able to be still enough (movements made me so terribly nauceuos) I was able to fall asleep, thank God.

He said it is nothing they can do. Because it's viral it will go away on it's own but I have to suffer nausea and dizzyness for the next couple of days. He said by sunday it should be gone.

But isn't that the oddest thing you have ever heard? I never expected to be something like that.

I am also thinking how I need to remind myself for this thread alone to put "I am".

LOL I am saying I have that problem too! (and sometimes I make exceptions. Haha.)

I am glad you at least knew what happened. When I first read this, I was thinking food poisoning. Yet the vertigo feeling never came to me. All the feeling that came to me was me being next to the toliet all the time. I am just shocked they couldn't give you something from the hospital for nausea at least. I am in agreeance...I haven't heard something like that before.

I am making an exception as well with the above paragraph. I am wandering could you imagine telling that story with I am at the beginning of each sentence? lol

I am glad to find out too. I mean I had my sister telling me "Take some pepto-bismal to settle your stomach" and my mom was like "drink water" but I was just upset because they had no idea what I was feeling and I wanted a professional to tell me what the heck was wrong with me!

It was nice to hear the explanation from the doctor. He said he has seen it many times before where perfectly healthy young people come in experiencing dizziness/nausea/vertigo and he said it always has to do with the inner-inner ear virus. He said our "inner ears" are further inside and they look like a small snail shell but that they are very important top our bodies balance. And because mine was like sick or something, it was making me feel imbalanced and constantly nauseous.

So he wrote me a slip for two nights off from work. And right now I basically have been keeping as still as possible and walking very slowly if I need to go somewhere. I'm trying to discourage movement because I don't want the nausea to get as bad as it was. I'm hungry now (completely empty stomach) but I am scared to eat anything!

Ha! I can imagine, but it would have been quite a headache!

I am thinking after this post, I'm going to listen to Black Heart Inertia by Incubus one more time and hit the bed. I am remembering how early 5am when the alarm goes off comes. I actually find myself at times missing nights, but at the same time, I am liking days as well.

I am wondering if you have ever listened to Family Force Five?

(5 am is so early to wake up!)

I am remembering a fellow co-worker asked me about that band. I have heard of the name but not the music. I am agreeing with you that 5am is really early to wakeup but the morning drive is sometimes pretty cool seeing the haze and the fog on the mountains.
