holy crap really? That's messed up
On that subject, did you come up with those scientific principles that allow for intelligence without a brain?I've been banned twice. One of the rules is "avoiding" which they used anytime they choose,
and the moderators don't even have control. Posters file complaints of "avoiding" and the forum
mechanism bans you without human intervention.
And in case you didn't notice, I ignore points of no interest to me.
A second time I lost track of my password and after being gone for two years, they ousted me for opening
a second account after my first one was banned.
And, in case you didn't know, there is a forum blacklist that other forums use to deny access to new
members who are troublemakers with listed emails and IP addresses. So it's not just harmless antics.
Practice. Go to "Why doesn't god heal amputees" and try not to get
kicked out of the forum. It's a challenge to have a conversation and
not break their rules.
I am not trying to start an argument.
But I notice there are a lot of atheist and agnostics here. I am just surprise. I can't imagine going on Islamic Forum. So why are there a lot of atheists and agnostics on a Christian Forum?
I think they are here because they are thirsty about Christianity. Hard core atheists will not be here.
i am a hard-core atheist.
- learn something about christianity
- correct misconceptions about myself and others like myself when false/hateful statements are made
- open a window to let some fresh air into the room
No. You are not. You still think some Christian ideas could be "fresh air". If you were, then you would certainly think anything about Christianity is worthless. Do you know any communist? If you do, talk to him about Christianity (or any religion) and see his reaction. That is hard-core.
Who are you?
You have no place telling me what I should deem worthless. You're fine to think that ideas outside of your circle of thought are worthless, that's fine, but I don't have to. Don't tell me. I don't think those ideas are worthless because I believe it is an embarrassment to be the person who thinks that they don't need to listen to what other people are saying, and still think of themselves as a respectable and learned person. Are you trying to tell me that I aught to treat Christianity-related things as worthless, just disregard them completely? I'm sure you must have great respect.

Just as I find that it is good to be reminded that not all agnostics and atheist hate Christians, hate Christianity, and hate Jesus. I'm reminded that there are some who are compassionate, caring people. I have heard them speak on this site.I find it good to be reminded that such Christians exist and threads like this one make me pause to think and I then think that being a jerk and being loud go hand in hand and that this means the jerks are overrepresented in what I see here and in life. Perhaps grossly overrepresented. I find I prefer remembering that and thinking there are many good, but quiet, Christians in this world.
The terms are not mutually exclusive.Any atheist who is honest with themselves is an agnostic. I don't understand why there has to be false dichotomies.
Why, exactly?Well, actually I do. I know exactly why they exist..
The terms are not mutually exclusive.
Why, exactly?
I get it.Just like Christianity needs there to be sin... discussing topics of conflict is fun and enjoyable and fulfilling.
I think that can be expanded to any person who is honest with themselves should call themselves agnostic. Agnosticism has nothing to do with not believing in gods. It has to do with knowledge of god's existence. You can be both agnostic and theist or atheist, in that you can either believe in God or not but also admit to not having knowledge of God's existence.Any atheist who is honest with themselves is an agnostic. I don't understand why there has to be false dichotomies.

Atheist and agnostic answer two different questions. They aren't 'degrees' of disbelief. To be an 'atheist' as opposed to being 'agnostic' is simply anti-theism. And anti-theism is by definition illogical because there is no reasonable scientific theory which says reality did not come from a sentient maker- our origin, scientifically, is an unanswered question.
The thing I don't get is why it doesn't bother some people to not have a settled belief of origins. I can't imagine not having a belief in God, I would lose my mind to be honest.
And that is why I believe everyone who is atheist is actually agnostic. How could you not be_

I don't know that there is no God so I'm agnostic, but I also don't believe there is, so that also makes me atheist. Agnostic doesn't mean I'm on the fence about believing in God or not.
