  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I might sound like Browneyes, but I have come to be very ashamed about my progress through my undergrad degree. It is very possible that by the time I will have finished, I will have pursued and abandoned two minors, before finally picking up a third. I will have completed six and a hlaf years of courses for a four-year degree, and half spent six years on my BA. I will also have wasted at least a year's worth of courses that I will ultimately not have needed.

I just think that my indecision is so inexcusable. I should have decided what i wanted to do from the start, and stuck to it. I really should never have ben so indecisive, especially over a minor.

Hey, live and learn.

You probably wouldn't have figured out what you wanted if you hadn't changed minors. Besides, most people don't know what they want going into college anyway. I had an english teacher who changed her major 7 times.

And look on the bright side, you may have taken a lot of classes that you didn't need...But you still learned something from them.

Be not ashamed!

It sounds like you've learned a lot about yourself. Maybe it would have been better if you knew ahead of time where you needed to be, but obviously you didn't, so don't sweat it. Tons of people do the same.

It took me three semesters of engineering classes to figure out I was in the wrong major. It shouldn't have taken me so long, since it was obvious to everyone I knew that I was way more excited about physics, but I was too worried that I might change my mind and want to do engineering to see it. So I lost some time, but I figure there's no sense dwelling on it now.

Good luck!

Thats alot of money wasted, That debt will be tremendous, especially since the bible tells us not to make ourselves slaves to debt and that we are to borrow from no one and lend to many.

You should pick up Gods major and start doing his work.

Once that debt has to be paid you'll see why the bible tells us that

I don't think it's a huge deal. I know many people in similar situations to yours. And you never know where God may call you next and what valuable lessons those extra years and classes taught you.
And most importantly, did you enjoy those 6 years? I know that I have switched majors and minors and degree programs (somehow without having to take additional courses so it's still fine) so indecision is just one of those common maladies that students suffer.
