Lol! That's great!I'm a fisher too..
Of men.. and of bass..
My hubby has a 18' Bass Tracker.. and we fish Lake Champlain..
Fishing is one of his ministries.. he takes out belivers.. & non-believers & kids and tells them about the Glory of God's creation.. they know before hand that he is a Christian.. I made him 'business' cards with Scripture..
Talk about a captive audience.. *smile*.. They have a choice to listen.. or swim..![]()
No, I don't think so. Are you starting a new thread?never checked, i will check it out later
did you ever check out the word for serpent in Gen 3?
Anonymous the Great said:Umm, quick question: when did Jesus say that He was a worm? You quoted a psalm, but it is actually titled as a psalm of David, but is there any scripture when Jesus claims to be a worm? After all, while the psalms are divinely inspired they were not divinely dictated.
(This is not a challenge, I actually think your worm discovery is pretty cool, it's just a question.)

Good point J!Hi Mike
When I saw this title I remembered a song we sang when I was a wee tot![]()
"Alas, and did my Savior bleed?
And did my Sovereign die?
Would He devote that sacred head
For such a worm as I?
At the cross
At the cross
Where I first saw the light ...."
LOLI had no idea what that verse was saying in that form of English but I still remember the worm

On a more serious note -----
Some see Psalm 22 as a prophecy of the Lord, the Saviour who is to come, and this verse as how people would see him.. despised and esteemed as nothing
Psa. 22:6 But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.
Just because he said it doesn't mean it is right, I hear people all the time say that man is just a worm but in fact he is created in the image and likeness of God... no worm here...
Now I am very curious as to how this ties in.
Job 25:1 THEN BILDAD the Shuhite answered,
2 Dominion and fear are with [God]; He makes peace in His high places.
3 Is there any number to His armies? And upon whom does not His light arise?
4 How then can man be justified and righteous before God? Or how can he who is born of a woman be pure and clean?
5 Behold, even the moon has no brightness [compared to God's glory] and the stars are not pure in His sight--
6 How much less man, who is a maggot! And a son of man, who is a worm!
I don't mean to be slow of understanding, but is it that Jesus was brought so low in His death?
I'm still puzzled.
Oh the depths of the wisdom and knowledge of God! And the depths of His wonderful Word!Wow Cindy, I was studying this to get at the answer and you sure opened a can of worms...
Do a word search on the words in this verse and you will find some startling truth...
Job 25:6 How much less man(ENOSH), that is a worm(Rimmah)? and the son of man(Adam), which is a worm(Towlah)?
I need to look into it further but my preliminary findings indicate that Enosh is a worm, the word worm there means worm but it comes from maggot or something that comes from the putrifying process, i.e. if you leave meat out and it begins to rot it develops little worms that help the process...
the son of Adam is a towlah, this also means worm but is a redemptive name for Jesus...
So this man (Enosh) is putrifing or decaying but the son of man (Adam) is a towlah worm... which is the type of worm the OP was all about, a redemptive name for Jesus...
So what does this verse mean? I have no idea but I intend to dig it out...
Mike.
No, I haven't. Not that I wouldn't find it interesting, it's just that I've been studying other things, and involved with my fellowship thread in my spare time. Thanks for asking, and again, if you uncover anything more, remember us here.Did you ever look at this Cindy, these words show up all over the OT...
