Ah, gotta love a borne testimony.....emerald Dragon said:I'll state this. Regardless of what we say, regardless of what you say, we know that we are right. We know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the True and Living Church. There is no other. We are confident, so we need not prove our confidence to others, unless we are trying to save your souls to the Celestial Kingdom. That is our only mission. When the Second Coming occurs, we shall find who is right, and we know that it is us. We have no question or doubt on that subject.
We are Christians in the fullest extent of the word, and regardless of what man may say, Christ and God accept us as Christians. That is all that matters.

So a testimony of God and Jesus is a bad thing? When did that sneak into the nicene(spelling?) creed?Wrigley said:Ah, gotta love a borne testimony.....
A testimony of God isn't a bad thing. But a testimony of the god of the mormons is a bad thing.Apex said:So a testimony of God and Jesus is a bad thing? When did that sneak into the nicene(spelling?) creed?

He accepted my sins in the Garden of Getsemene, and died on the cross, and has paid the price. I know that if I repent of my sins, and pray to Him for forgiveness, He will wash away my sins, and I will be saved. I believe in God, Christ and the Holy Ghost. I am ever grateful for the guidance they have given to me, and for the many blessings that they have bestowed on me. Words cannot begin to express my gratitude.

The "god of the mormons" exists only in your head.Wrigley said:A testimony of God isn't a bad thing. But a testimony of the god of the mormons is a bad thing.
Says you. I see it when I read mormon posters' testimonies and posts. It is plainly clear and obvious that you mormons do worship a false god.Apex said:The "god of the mormons" exists only in your head.

Maybe it isn't so much of who is 'right', but rather who is 'complete'. Obviously, non-LDS Christians have some grasp of the Gospel, but as ED put it, it is not enough to get to the Celestial Kingdom - which is the LDS Church's purpose.
Well, that's amazing, considering I was bearing a testimony of God, not "the god of the mormons." Your insistence on saying that we do not believe in God is not based in fact. It is simply your desire to say that we are wrong by claiming that we do not believe in God. If we do not believe in God, then whatever we say can possibly be construed as right, but if we do not believe in Him, then whatever we say is wrong. We do believe in Christ, in God, and in the Holy Ghost, as proclaimed by the Old Testament, the New Testament, and as by the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and other scriptures. All testify the same thing, whether you can see it or not.Wrigley said:A testimony of God isn't a bad thing. But a testimony of the god of the mormons is a bad thing.
"Mingling with GODS he can plan for his bretheren" means what ED? I realize you have not been through the endowment ceremony yet but how can you miss that line in "Praise to the man" which is all about Joseph Smith after he was killed?emerald Dragon said:Well, that's amazing, considering I was bearing a testimony of God, not "the god of the mormons." Thank you for your appreciation for my being in the armed services.GodsWordisTrue said:ED, when you say, "We know that we are right," that means you also "know" that we are wrong. I certainly hope you reconsider somewhere down the road. What I believe is supported by scripture. If you choose to believe the scriptures are wrong, you're walking on treacherous ground. Please seek to know God's truth and have His leading.
Thank you for serving our country. We appreciate our armed forces so much.
One, this song is not scripture, nor is it doctrine. Two, God said in the beginning, "Let us make man in our image." LDS doctrine allows for the possiblility of other gods, but one One is in existence for all of mankind. We only worship one, and we will never worship any others.calgal said:"Mingling with GODS he can plan for his bretheren" means what ED? Actually that is not a question, it is a directive and comment.emerald Dragon said:Here is a question to all. We claim to be the Only True Church. If you cannot say the same for yours, start finding a new one, for there can only be One True Church, as God is not a God of confusion and contention, and the fact that so many churches do exist is a testament to this confusion and contention.
