I was born again recently about two weeks ago. I just suddenly felt my spirit filled by Jesus Christ the Son of God. I was an agnostic prior to this but I'm very certain now about my faith. Jesus really repaired my life. I no longer feel lonely and loss. I no longer feel confused and depressed. I wake at 9 am without fail without alarm clocks every morning filled with the holy spirit and I pray at least twice per day. My mother is also a faithful Christian and she prays for me too.

Anyway, here's the trouble. I never was addicted to pornography and on the rare occasions I let myself go during holidays, I always manage to pull myself together back in time. But even after becoming a Christian, although it's easier to resist and I don't get the pull often at all, I still feel the pull sometimes.

Another problem is, I'm a bisexual and although I feel that it isn't wrong, I was raised by strict parents and learnt to respect (and expect) the cane so to speak. That means I rather be safe so I'm trying to change my sexual orientation but so far it's been not very successful. Last thing is tattoos- are they wrong if done good showing no vulgar and bad images? I don't believe in tattooing jesus and anything to do with God by the way. I feel that it is a desecration to Him who is all holy and we are not holy. I'm talking about something normal like script or an angel, etceteras.

Please give me some advice here. I'm afraid to talk about this to my church leaders as I'm still new and I don't feel secure sharing all this just yet.

Thank you and God bless.

It is important as a Christian to live by the Word of God. That means moving away from all sin. As for sexuality it must be straight to be inline with God's word. And it must be with in the confines of marriage.

The bible says that "God will never allow you to be tempted beyond what you can bear" ... that "He will make a way of escape in every sin". This is not to say we always listen to God's promptings, a person may fail, God will still forgive. But Our aim must be to move away from sin, give in to God, not our fleshly desires.

Christians may get tattoos, but I do not recommend it. They are generally not seen in a good light. However, it is ultimately up to you.

It's actually very widespread among Christians; FYI, this is a quote from someone in the Bible Belt, FYI:

Around here (Bible Belt), it is common, especially among evangelical Christians, for the girls under about 40 to have religious tattoos. More do than don't, especially when you get to the under 30 crowd. I hardly know any female at church that is under 30 that does not have a tattoo.

It used to be mainly a man thing in the mid-20th century although in North America now this is far from the case.

Hi, everyone, thanks so much for the replies. I shall address some, the ones I find the best later when I have time. I didn't see this earlier because the replies weren't showing up in my email for some reason. God bless.

The only advice I can give you is the bisexual and I prayed to God about it because I made friends who weren't straight. Is to pick one person to be your spouse and stick with it. I'm straight, but I had friends who need advice who weren't. I hope this helps.

Letting go games and it's entertainment industry is a hard one. I learned I have an addiction to it. When you have an mental illness and getting out of the realm of entertainment was hard. I had to do it because I was losing myself to were I was believeing that all characters in the entertainment world was alive and needed my help. So I fought for 5 years for them. And I prayed to God the Father to make them and have them born on this earth in Jesus' name. And He is. But I broke out of that, and it was hard. But I still believe that God is making all characters and have them born on this good earth someday. He have given me promises and signs and wonders about that. And I feel so happy. Now I feel like it's my turn and take care of myself. Then God is promising a man in my life someday. He's going to match make for me. Even If I have to marry someone in Heaven.

Hey there, I don't remember mentioning anything about thinking fictitious characters being real. You need some help, pal. Fictional characters aren't real and never will be. I apologise if this sounds rude but you really seem to me like you're stuck in a rut. I have had friends like this and it ruins their life somewhat to be so attached to a non existent being. Not saying it is a worse or less severe sin than those I'm facing, but I know I have a problem and you do not seem to know you have a problem. This gave it away,

Anyway, thank you for your reply and I will pray.

I know I have a problem. That's why I have God to help me. Know one understands but Jesus. I don't have a therapist to help me with my problems. I mean know one. They just judge and hurt my feelings and get away with it. I have small roundation of friends. So, now one is really there for me. It's just God and the Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

I have to be careful because this is another topic. I can make this a new thread if you want to talk about it.

As you walk w God, ask Him to talk w you personally as He is the only one who knows everything about you and it will ultimately be btw you and God what your decisions on tattoos and sexual identity are. Sometimes what is 'sin' for one person may not be in the opinion of another. We are continually fearfully working out our salvation (fearfully meaning fearing God which also means just obeying God). so ask Him what He feels is right for you because He knows you better than you know yourself:). And then you and God can make your decisions together and He becomes your best friend.

hi, Katyn. Although everyone's replies offered me new insight and a fresh perspective on things, Your reply, though most simple, has been the most helpful. You are right. Ultimately it's between me and God. I am happy to say that I have had a personal revelation with Him, and I am no longer confused with these matters.

Thank you to all who replied.

Awesome! So glad I could helpKeep walking close to God, and don't let the 'rules' and 'religion' of Christianity that some people may try to enforce ever deter you from walking w our All-accepting, loving, and caring Jesus who is here to save the world, not to judge or condemn it. A lot of christians make it so hard on themselves and others yet God is here to help and to make life a lot easier!!
