CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've met so many guys who are primarily concerned about their looks and the looks of their gf. I definitely don't want to be married to someone like that.
I think someone should marry the person they know they want to share their lives with because of their character, belief and perspective in life. Beauty should be secondary because it fades with time (unless you can keep it up with your money). If we want to marry somebody mainly for their looks, then our love is shallow and whimsical. That's my opinion.

Well, you are entitled to your opinion. You have good ideals. Unfortunately,we do not live in an ideal world. If this was an ideal world,we would have no need for a heaven. Many women and men tell me that I have wonderful,and very good beliefs,character,and qualities. But I am not being picked. Therefore.......looks do matter.

Are you saying the reason you aren't getting dates is that there is something wrong with your looks?
And how does your beliefs, character, and qualities become the center of anyone's conversation? Personally, I find this an odd conversation point.
Considering that you did "date" back in November, I am having a hard time with your assumption that there is "something" wrong. I don't think most people our age have dates every weekend unless we have found someone to date long term. I actually think you have more action than most of us...except maybe Dayhiker...but he is always open to trying new things and experiencing new people so it just makes sense.

Like Dayhiker,I am trying new things,also. There are numerous "Meet Up" groups in the San Francisco Bay Area. I will be going to a Meet Up Meeting on the 22nd of March. It is about 40 miles south of where I live. It is called "Warm Water Soak and Social" No,this is not a 1970's type hot tub party.
No alcohol is allowed. No sexual activity is allowed. This is just a small group of 25 relaxing after a stressful work week on a Friday. I will have Dress Rehearsal on Tuesday,Wednesday,and Thursday of that week. I will have Friday,the 22nd off. My first performance will be on the 23rd,at 2:30pm.
Yes,I do miss our christian dances on every third Saturday of every month. There is a rumor that one church in our area is starting up another singles group. One lady told me that she remembers me from the dances. She is holding a Singles Bible Study at her home every first and third Thursday of the month. The singles' bible study ,at the church that had the dances,was about 25 miles away with rush hour traffic. This lady's home is only about 2 miles from where I live.
It is a shame,that with over 9 million people here in the San Francisco Bay Area,Most of the suburbs do not have many or places for dances or other outings for singles.
