• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I am not going to lie and say looks don't count for something. But I look rather averge. I am neither a couch potato nor an athelete. I am somewhere in the middle and no one would mistake me for a movie star. So am I supposed to look for super models, LOL? I think most people our age - even if you are relatively fit - start to look average, if you go by the standards of Hollywood. But we have better standards than that. There are issues like character and values and lifestyle that should matter. But it is also true that how we take care of our bodies is a reflection of our values and I think we should strive to be fit without being vain or extreme about it. Actually, it is sinful if we let ourselves go to the point where we harm our bodies. We should live disciplined lives in all areas. I have to struggle with discipline a lot. I have months where I am exercising pretty regularly and I am feeling good, then things happen and I get out of the habit and it is a struggle to get back into the habit.

The "build" of different people varies. I am not talking about packing a few extra pounds. I know someone in real life who has neglected her body to the point where she is having all kinds of serious problems, she is that overweight. I don't think she will live to see 60. She has all kinds of pain because her joints are wearing out but she is not a candidate for surgery because of her weight and so on. That is an extreme example. It's not a joking matter. As we get older we really have to be careful.

I saw a video about how telomeres (the DNA replicas on the ends of our chromosomes) get shortened as our years progress and that leaves us exposed to all types of age-related conditions. I don't know what the solution is but I know weight-training is the fountain of youth.
