Ya --- if all else fails --- try my sig.

Gotta jump in on this one, AV. I am afraid that if this is how you fulfill "The Great Commission", then you have dropped the ball (and it didn't even turn inside out).

When witnessing to people who are versed in logic, history, science, philosophy and, yes, theology, you really only hurt your argument with ex cathedra proclamations of "God Did It. Case Closed".

That's ironic too, because you have so often indicated that your faith bears little relation to the history of the Catholic Church, and that's where we get the phrase ex cathedra. "From the Chair".

Funny that. See, you can't really hide from your faith's history. Faith has always relied on ignoring the facts and then proclaiming "Truth".

It's interesting to watch because often when the really faithful are backed into a fact-based corner of their own painting, they are left hoping that they will be magically "raptured" out of said corner. But sadly this rapture never happens so they just wind up having to state insupportable meaningless phrases.

You would do just as good to put some glossolalia there. To people who value thought in religious discussions it would serve as well as your current sig.

Well, taking classic dynamics...

a = v²/r,

take r = 13.7 billion light years / 3.1416
take v = c - 100 m/s

a = 2.18 * 10^-9 m/s²

Not very much! I assume that this is messed up rather by relativity, though, And also, the force required would presumably be rather large since the earth would gain mass.

Why is it that the only original research carried out into creationism is carried out by scientists having a laugh.

We can place the spiralling at the speed of light garden of Eden along my idea of dating the fall by looking for fossil evidence of predation, which didn't happen pre-fall, and send it to AIG.

We could be big in the world of Creationism because we actually have the education and brains to think clearly on this matter.

If only we didn't have morals we could make a fortune gulling hapless Christians :sigh:

Yes, I really think that creationists have turned more people away from Christianity than they have saved.

Shouldn't that be the other way around? First they proclaim "The Truth," then they ignore any facts that come up that conflict with "The Truth."

But, Baggins, didn't you get the memo? Humanists and atheists don't have any morals!

They can't possibly have morals! They don't live in fear of eternal punishment so they don't have any reason to be "nice" to other humans.

Evil Atheists and Humanists are busy destroying the world because sin just feels plain ol' goooood!

Oh, I gotta sign offa here...I'm missing some prime sinnin' time! Those kittens won't eat themselves!

AV1 will you be willing to rewrite the bible according to whatever suits your fancy? If yes then pleeeeeaaassseee save a signed copy for me.

I think the "historians" have already done that under the name of "historical reconstruction", or some such garbage.

p.s. Incidentally, give it time, you "scientists" will re-write your own, under the guise of "new evidence".

Then maybe you should go ask your church and wife to come up with a better way of explaining this, because right now you are simply claiming logical impossibilities.

No --- I have already proven --- via my Apple Challenge --- that it cannot be explained.

I even gave you guys a chance to explain it, and you couldn't.

Not exactly what my own PanDeistic theory sets out, but food for thought!!

And good food, too, Pan! That's a very good explanation.

But what I don't like about it, is that is shows God using nature as a tool to bring about His Creation --- something I don't think He did.

In my opinion, the speed of light is just as fast today as it was yesteryear.

Let's try this again, Thaumaturgy, with emphasis on the key words:

Ya --- if all else fails --- try my sig.

If all else fails --- try my sig.

Or maybe God put it there? Did that thought cross your mind?

Why would God put lead in zircons? There is not a single functional reason that they should be there. Since God supposedly created the physical laws of our universe he would know that zircons exclude lead when they form, that they also include uranium which decays to lead, and that humans in the future would use zircons to try and date geologic formations. Again, you are proposing a straight up Omphalos argument. It's time to fess up.

Dunno --- why would He put zinc in copper [brass] --- or tin in copper [bronze]?

Doesn't answer my question. Why would God create a false history of billions of years of radioactive decay in zircons?

Keep looking.

For what? More deception?

He didn't create a "false history". You've been led to believe that.

For what? More deception?

You do realize that calling this "deception" is more than coincidental --- don't you?

Tonight on CBS,

C.S.I.--Heaven!

In tonight's episode, the CSI-Heaven team has God in a tight corner. Did He plant the evidence? This must-see episode will leave you reeling as the depths of reason are plumbed and the meaning of words evaporates!

(This show is rated TV-IL; TV "Illogical" for gross abuses of logic)

You really need to explain your answers. All I've seen you do is make preposterous claims and then use Bible verses as punctuation.

You really need to read some of my old posts and learn who I am before making a statement like this, newbie.

I take offense to newbies coming on here and treating me like I haven't been explaining this stuff over and over and over and over and over.

Like you.

Whatever are you referring to here? God didn't make either brass nor bronze. Humans make these by mixing different metals together.

Keep looking.
Don't you ever get tired of this useless response?

LOL! He may be a newbie, but he has you pegged. Maybe that is why you "take offense" at his comment.

Fine with me --- what's the problem then?
