  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

How we met:
Through an internet personal ad I put out when I had nothing to lose. We met in a coffee shop and went out for an afternoon movie shortly after that.

How I knew that she was the one God wanted me to be with:
Have you ever felt like God was tapping you on the shoulder? He hit me upside the head with a 9-Iron. :) (Or was it a 7????.....)
Honestly I just knew. I can't really explain it.

Did we always get along?:
Yes, she's not only my wife she's my best friend.

My wife is a mail order bride, back before they had email order brides.

I started out with a list of 1500 women who were looking for pen pals. I sent out a xeroxed letter and some christian material. A monthly magazine and a sermon tape. So I was sort of doing missionary work also. Actually, at the time I had been divorced for 17 years, so I was wondering if I was ever going to get married again.

I was writting to about 300 women at one time. Then one day God told me that there were women that were getting their hopes up that I would marry them, and they were disappointed and hurt when it turned out I was not as interested in them as they were in me. He told me to either get married or QUIT getting romantically involved, even via the mail. I thought it would be to difficult NOT to have that kind of a relation ship with women, so I picked one out that I thought was a very loving person and got married to her. So she was the one that got me to travel to the totally opposite side of the world to meet her in person. None of the others managed to talk me into going over there.

Her story was that when she graduated from collage she wanted to help her family out. So she decided not to get married right away(she had a boy friend who wanted to get married) She went out and worked for about 10 years. She build her mom a house and gave her a few appliances. She put her neice though collage and just in general helped her family out. Then one day she decided it was time to get married. (Her biological clock was ticking and she wanted a baby before she got to be to old) So she prayed about it, and the next time she went to the mail box there was my first letter. She took that as a sign from God that I was the right one for her. (She just about always gets what she wants when she prays) Then she decided to confirm it, if everything worked out then it was of God. If it was not of God, she prayed He would cause things not to work out. Then like I said, somehow she managed to get me over there to marry her. She was living and working in Hong Kong at the time.

It is difficult to be single, and it is more difficult to be married. But I think I would rather be married, because I do not like to live alone. It is nice to have someone special to love and someone to take care of.
