  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Just checking to see how folks have weathered the recent storms. I'm sure there are those who are suffered, but it's good to know from those who are there.

So far, the churches in my denomination's Presbytery of the South on the mainland have suffered lost roofs from homes, but that's it for them.

I've heard Haiti was hit hard. We haven't heard back yet from our pastors there.

I have a correspondence to the island of Trinidad and so far they seem to be doing well.

I'm also waiting to hear from Puerto Rico.

I live just north of Tampa and so far I have been without power for almost 24 hours and some branches lost out of the big oak tree in my front yard, but at work my boss's car window got busted when the roof of the building came off. Nothing serious though.

I think we're supposed to get something like 5-7 inches of rain from the remains of Jeanne overnight. We haven't had any rain since Ivan, so the ground's dried out somewhat but it'll still probably flood along the rivers. Most of the wind and etc will be southeast of us, though.
