This bill looks inactive, nothing’s happened for two months. Do you know anything more about whether it will be debated or voted?

As an Australian, I would answer yes! You're losing a war against a nasty bug. It should absolutely be something the government is allowed to do - in fact - you should be voting against those parties that don't do it!

If someone in Starbucks between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. Thursday is found to have the virus, the government immediately knows whoever was there. They are all tested. They might all need to quarantine--not sure. His city, the size of Chicago, has had two cases in two weeks.

Extreme? Perhaps...but because of it they have less than 13,000 cases and 300 deaths while we have 2.7 million cases and 130,000 deaths.

Their economy is much stronger. Their stimulus waa tiny.

Extreme cases call for extreme measures.

As Americans some of us want the government to be involved in our lives as little as possible. Some of us refuse to wear a mask and we know that really there is very little they can actually do because if you take people to jail for it well you cannot really social distance. If you make it a fine it becomes one more about revenue ( especially since they are losing a lot of taxes because of the shut-downs and two since people still would have the right to fight it in court you would have a lot more people going in and out of court for an offense that is really about as non-violent as they get. Some people ( like my family) usually only wear a mask if a particular business requires it.

In my opinion, people who refuse to wear masks in public are selfish human beings with no care of people other than themselves who are dragging the rest of us down and getting people sick. People who refuse to wear a mask are leaches on society unwilling to pay the bare minimum of being in a civilized society which is wearing a mask during a pandemic. They take no personal responsibility for their actions and expect the rest of us to sacrifice to battle this pandemic for them. Then they have the audacity to complain when cases skyrocket and things get shut down.

I know that Kemp GA's governor has made it clear as day that he REFUSES to require people to wear masks. Although some cities are and businesses are allowed to mandate it.

Then you have people in charge of your state government that fall in that same category and they also are encouraging other people to have zero regard for their fellow man. The state I grew up in is doing that too. Technically my state is even worse because the state is not allowed, by state Supreme Court order, certain mandates that would stamp out this virus and now some local jurisdictions are having their orders overturned as well.

But you yourself are a testament to the fact that people won’t voluntarily wear masks unless they have to. I’d love to just rely on the goodness of people to wear masks but the reality is they won’t so unfortunately we need to be more forceful.

but again what they going to do you can make it a crime, but either punishment you give incarceration or a fine incarceration will and a fine may come with social distencing issue and that is what they are trying to enforce.

Fines would be sufficient. Not enough people are will to go to jail over this to matter.
