Okay...
I have been a Christian a long while, and I went to Church Camp last week for the first time! It was amazing, to say the LEAST! (It is definately beyond words!) Everyone would go up to the alter for worship, and would cut everything else out exept for God! It was awesome! They were praising God, singing to Him, jumping, etc. It was soooo touching! I was one of those people too! Last week I, & many others, got baptized in the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues! It was so.........(beyond explanation!) Thursday night....I felt that God was calling me into the Ministry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How GREAT!! But... I do not know WHERE I am called into the Ministry at!!!!!!! Or if it is FULL-TIME Ministry... So...has any of you got called into the Ministry the SAME way or different *either way* do you know HOW I can find this out? (By prayer, but I can't seem to find out....I have NEVER EVER had anything like this ever happen to me, so I do not know!!! (Anyone know the feeling? It is an anxious, yet a held back type feeling!) Well, I hope I did not put anyone to sleep! I am EXTREMELY EXITED! I am so anxious to know this because, I am going to be looking at Colleges this year (Sophmore year) and am going to need to know the cost, what I am majoring in, what College (Which I would probably not go to a secular one...) But...I need to know all this also to know what all of the extra ciricular things I need to take...ya know? Well.... thanks for reading this far! Gotta Go.... I pray that God Blesses each and everyone on this site right now!! I love it! Reply quick (if you want, of course!) Chat as soon as you reply...!

Congrats! Im so happy for you.I know it is an exciting time for you right now.Just remmember to never let that fire and zeal to go out.Reciving the gift of tongues is awsome isnt it?I had a similar experiance i already was speaking in tongues before i started camp but didnt feel the calling until i went. Now im a minister.
The thing is you dont want to jump the gun and start before your ready. In time the lord will revel what kind of ministry he wants you to go into, but right now you need to start preparing yourself.Learn as much as you can, study the bible and pray, and start taking classes that can help you. Then go to bible college if you are lead to,and go from there.Just keep your heart open as to witch direction the lord would have you go,and the door will open for you.
And dont forget you need to speak in tongues daily to develop that as well.
God Bless and i am every excited for you.

Same here. I went to camp and was called into the ministry. To be honest, about six months after camp I ran into some hard times in my life, where I got involved in the wrong things. I began to doubt God's calling in my life, because I hadnt gotten any more guidance than just "full time ministry" and that alone isnt very much to go by. So I turned from God. But you know what? He called me right back to him! So looks like we're in the same boat. I'm gonna be a sophomore, just took my ACT, lookin at colleges... If you are A/G I'd recommend SAGU down in Texas... but then again i have no idea where u live lol so n/m. PM me or somethin and we can talk if u wanna, k?

WOAH PRAISE GOD!!
W00t WOOT JUST PRAISE THE LORD! HAHAHA that is amazing, God bless!
I am in the exact (well.. similar ;)) situation as you are! The call on my life that God has blessed me with is Full-Time Ministry!! But where I'd go from there... I can only wait and trust in the Lord!! Do not grow weary though... when God start's somethin, He will finish it to completion! Amen? He's the author AND perfecter of our faith... He'll take you through! You may not know where you're going into the ministry until the DAY b4 you leave!! who knows.. but just keep faith in God... when the time is right, He will reveal it to you. Just pray for it... and don't worry... God is faithful and just.
and for both of you... I'd suggest (if the Lord leads) take a look at Master's Commission. It's an intense, hands-on, ministry-training, discipleship program... becuz (don't get scared or anythin by this, but just be aware:)
you can't be 'taught' ministry, and you can't be 'taught' how to live with Christ. It's a heart thing.. you have to actually LIVE it. Some people I know have gone to Bible college FILLED with zeal and passion... but then the studying, books, work, etc. bogs them down... and at Bible college they get "HEAD" smart about Christianity and the Bible.. but they are empty, becuz their "HEARTS" got put out... makin sense?
Anyway, one reason Master's Commission is good is becuz it's LIVING the life.. not just learning in class and things. It's just ya.. u have to check it out. If u want any more info, just give me a PM or a heads up.
Just some food for thought. But God bless you all ;) and AMEN!

I live in AR, so Texas is close, and I am AG! So that rocks! I will look into that! I am really trying to look at colleges because it is only 2 years from now...and it is going to go by fast! [3 from now but two after this year] I think that is SO awesome how we are in the similar boats! I just believe God is completely showing me something! I am really sorry for not replying soon enough! I just got a little caught up in a different site! [it was a thing where I do not believe in a certain thing, and another person did...and it kind of got a little bad...a particular person tried proving it to me...but no complete biblical evidence...they just proved mine wrong?!?!] Anyway...I will get to PM you sometime. I will be busy for a day or two! But, gotta go!

Dear Heather,

Its really great to know about your experiences in the Lord.

Remember that God may not force you if He has called you to Full Time Ministry. He will wait until you make that decision from your side. But, if He wants you real badly, He can stop you abruptly in your path and make you come for Full-time ministry (just like Apostle Paul or Prophet Jonah).

Full Time Ministry is a tough life (especially if you are not financially independent). Pls think a lot and check God's guidance before you make the plunge. Do not be emotional and let not your feelings/excitement overtake you.

God will reveal to you in His own mysterious ways If He wants you to be in Full-time ministry. And you can wait to get the "Call" confirmed by other True and Gifted God-Servants. Until then you need to wait without making the plunge. God will not get angry with you as He would be knowing that you are only making sure of His Call.

Secondly, as regards to your college. You can opt for Bible college after you make sure that God is calling you for Full-time Ministry and that God is indeed wanting you to join a Bible college.

Sometimes, God may have full-time ministry in mind but may not allow you to go for Bible college. He might like to teach you about The Bible and about Himself even without you going to a Bible college. Remember the disciples Jesus picked-up were simple men and they did not have any Bible college education. But, they learnt and grew in wisdom by walking with Lord Jesus all the time and understanding about God's ways from Him. They also waited to recieve the Holy Spirit before they set-out.

If God has given you talent in a secular field, then, He might want you to join a secular college instead. And He may even make you work in a secular job before He can commit to you any kind of ministry.

Many people whom God called for His ministry were "Working" people. For example, David was taking care of his father's sheeps before he was crowned as king. Moses was tending the flock of his father-in-law before God appeared to him and sent him for His work in Egypt. Some of the disciples were working as fishermen before Jesus called them for His work.

Unless you know and experience God and His ways in normal life as a college-goer and as a working person in a secular job, how can you minister to those who attend college or to those who are working in a secular job. It is difficult to understand there problems unless you also experience being in their shoes. And it is difficult to counsel them as a Minister of God.

We are all Full-time ministers and witnesses of Christ as soon as we recieve the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Even working in secular jobs as a witness for Christ is Full-time work bcoz we work as unto the Lord as serving our Lord in secular jobs.

As soon as we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we feel as if we can forget our earthly responsibilities and life and totally plunge into full-time ministry. This is not so. A Man of God said "God calls only 1% of His children to full-time ministry. The rest 99% need to be as His disciples and witnesses in secular jobs." But, sadly, many christians make the plunge in excitement and without proper discernment and end-up as bad examples for others to follow. Thus, they end-up bringing shame to the Lord and God is not glorified in their lives.

Pls consider all these inputs seriously and make your decision.

Hope this helps and pardon me for being blunt.

May the Lord continue to Bless & Guide you,
Vincent :)
