I'm a registered organ donor, which is an awesome thing IMHO. The idea of helping/saving lives after I'm gone makes me feel great.

"Science" is not getting my body, though. Way too much of what goes on is completely unethical and immoral, and they aren't gonna get my body parts lol.

Just cremate the rest of me. No need to take up space in the ground.

I used to think cremation-not anymore. I'd like my kids to have a nice resting place to visit-and they seem so peaceful I wouldn't mind being placed to rest. I'm also an organ donor-like why do I want all those organs anyway? Use some organs and bury me!

I find the idea of my body being burned to be exceptionally creepy. I think I've watched too many disturbing movies.

Burial seems more natural. I just finished reading "The Jesus Year" and in it the author goes to a Georgian (the state, not country) monastery on a former plantation. To earn money, one of the things they offer is a green burial. That means you can have your body just dropped in the ground (which sounds fine to me) or have your body put in a biodegradable casket (which sounds even better). And being buried on the grounds of a monastery seems nice to me. Although I wonder how peaceful a resting place it would be since it's a former plantation.

ideally, i'd like to be translated in the rapture and avoid death altogether.

Well I can't argue with that.

I like symbolism and historical continuity so I'd opt for burial in a simple coffin and facing towards the east awaiting the ressurrection. I'd quite like Psalm 62:1 to be carved on my tombstone as well.

Donate anything useable. Give the rest either to science if they want it, if not - I couldn't care less. My folks are buried in Arlington National Cemetary. I pass it twice a day and I've been there half a dozen times over the last 30 years. No one is going to come see my grave. I think if we burned all dead bodies there'd be less of an energy crisis. Just pile them up and light it. There is a never ending supply and there is enough fat in American bodies to keep them burning forever. Easy replacement for nuclear energy.
