  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I want to get my fiance a special gift, not for any specific occasion but just to show my appreciation for who he is. I would really like to get him a hardcover copy of one of his favorite books with the author's autograph on the inside. Does anyone know how I would do that? I have the author's mailing address, so I was thinking I would buy the book and mail it to her along with a letter telling her how much my fiance and I like her work, and asking if she could jot something for him. Should I include a check for s&h? As you can probably tell, I've never done this before. If I send the stuff out and never get a reply, it really doesn't matter to me that I won't get the book back or the money...no big loss...I just have to try and see what happens.

Weigh the package and see how much postage it will take. Enclose a mailer addressed back to yourself with the same amount of postage on it. then all the author hads to do is oppen it, read the note, inscribe the book, and pop it back into the other envelope to mail,.
