I have a question for any adult converts. Were you recieved by baptism or by chrismation only? What influenced the decision?

Suzannah said:Well I haven't been received yet, but the Bishop has made his decision about me....(I've always been a problem child who requires a Higher Up). I was baptised as an infant in the Lutheran Church and then again when I was a teenager in the Baptist denomination. Our Bishop does not want me baptised again due to my INFANT baptism, but I will be chrismated. My daughter on the other hand, well, call me stupid, but when she was a baby, the only place that could do an immediate baptism was a local wedding chapel in Reno and it was done by a real minister...however, after reviewing the video tape of her baptism, the Bishop said that although it was a "very nice service" (he's so polite!) the minister never stated "for the remission of sins" and also that the minister used the "Name of Jesus" during the pouring instead of the Trinity. So he wants Fr. J to baptise her again, then chrismate...
All of this was actually supposed to happen this month, but it has been moved back to possibly the Feast of the Dormition because we are hoping to make it all part of a pilgrimage to St. John Maximovitch's grave in San Francisco and then on to the St. Herman of Alaska Monastery in Platina, CA. One big party! Then I will be able to truly say "My heart is in San Francisco..." (I love St. John of Shanghai!!!

Thank you!!! I just found out about it last night at catechumen class....Aria said:This is wonderful Suzannah! My prayers for your safe journey into Orthodoxy.
