  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

* While watching the baseball game (GO RED SOX!!!), I pretend I am the announcer sometimes. The other day I called a back to back home run that put us in the lead down 5-4 to 6-5. We won that game :). How? Well in between innings I was like, "And Manny hits it deep and it's gone! Tie game! .....And David Ortiz hits it deep and it's gone and the Red Sox are now in the lead 6-5!!!" I come back in the room, and what do I see happen? Exactly that. Don't believe me? Check the box score of Sunday nights game vs the White Sox! :-D

I also like to punch stuff that bumps into me..l MEAN I bump into. ;)

That is NOT weird. At least for a girl. :D
I use to teach my first grade Brownie troop to crochet.
I have been crocheting since a very young age.
I was taught to knit back then to but never cared for it - the two needle thing.

I was a devoted knitter before I found crocheting. Because I got sore hands from holding tiny needles I prefer crocheting. I'm yet to try big knitting needles. I've just started my first project in years (had to find a yarn I wasn't allergic to.) I'm making a house rug. 8ft long chain to begin and it's now 1/2 ft wide so far.

This is a really interesting thread. As you can tell I have been replying to a few messages as I have been making the trek through the thread.
Weird about me? - I have bottlefed a baby porcupine, love to act but hate being the center of attention.
I guess it depends on what you call weird - my family thinks I'm weird because I became a CHristian and went back to Bible college - student loans all the way! -I'm sure glad God has enough to cover it. Hmmm... Oh yeah my family thinks I'm weird because I talk to my dog and about her like she was a human being. If I say someting - I expect her to listen! LOL

Keep'em coming everyone!

Another win today!!! whooo hoooo!!!! Pat Hughes and Ron Santo Rule!!!! I would love to meet them someday!

Yes, people here in Indiana think it's weird that I want to live in Canada because they think the ENTIRE country is one big frozen tundra. Actually, I would prefer to live on Vancouver Island. :))))) Oh, and they just don't get that whole hockey thing! lol!!!

Oh, more 'weird' stuff about me.....three of my best friends are my Mustang named Reyna (it's a car, not a horse) that I've had for 10 years and my two cats who I talk to like they are human and usually get answers from. :)

Let's see, weird thigs about me that I can list off here quickly...

-My coworkers say I have my own language.
-I used to hug people in elementary school for calling me weird.
-Sometimes I buy gum just to eat it.
-I've only changed my hairstyle once in the 22 years I 've been alive (and that was just cutting it above my shoulders-and I really didn't like it!)
-I've never dyed my hair, at all!
-I have no piercings or tattoos, and doubt I ever will.
-I think about over ten thoughts or topics at any given time, and can tell a person each thought in detail. (My friends find this greatly amusing)
-I didn't start liking boys until I was a freshman or sophmore in high school, and even then I didn't really care!
-I tend to laugh for no particular reason.
-I pace around my kitchen table while talking on the phone.
-I will sometimes do a random little dance (softshoe, etc.) for no real reason while having a discussion with people.
-Coffee makes me sleepy.
-Caffinated sodas (i.e. Mt. Dew) act as alcohol for me.
-I've been banned from drinking energy drinks by several circles of friends.
-My best friend growing up thought that I was a boy for several years. (even though I have long blonde hair, etc.)

Oh, here's the best one!!...
-When I was in elementary school (early on), God specifically told me that He had created me to be weird and different. Not even joking! I still remember it very vividly!

Also, both Canada and hockey rock!!!
I went curling in Canada once, and totally loved it! I also went to a high school (I think!) hockey game and was hit by one punk, and then narrowly missed getting hit by another one later in the game. That was good times all over!

I started a donkey revolution this summer.

I have no problem eating things that have already been in someone else's mouth.

I have no circadian rhythm (24hr body clock) - certified by my doctor.

I will eat just about anything if I think it will further the kingdom.

My favorite beverage is tonic water.

Yeah, Ron Santo is fun to listen to.. he gets so excited - it's awesome! Cubbies swept the Brewers!! Woohoo!!!! Do they show all the games on tv in Indiana?

I love Vancouver! Great people! I hung out there for like 4 days or so a few years ago... never took the ferry over to Vancouver Island though.

Pat: "Simmer Down, Ron! Simmer down!" :)

Yes, actually a lot of the cable channels (at least around me anyway) have WGN so I can get to see the Cubbies if I'm around someone who has it. I don't have cable/satellite or anything because I can't afford it right now. I sometimes get to watch them on satellite when I go to the gym. :) I used to love watching Harry Caray and Steve Stone.

Yep, another day, another win!!! I'm so excited!!!!! I love it when they beat Houston!!!

They did!?!??! WOOHOO!!! Can we say "wild card!"?!?! WHat was the score? Yeah, I get WGN in San Diego but they don't have ALL the games on. I'm worried about the Marlins.. they were 4 or 5 games back last time I checked but they're going strong and I DO NOT want to see a repeat of last year. Uh! So close!

Is it weird when they when. (Like the Boston Red Sox)

Hehe...sometimes for the Cubbies, things can go so bad for so long that it DOES seem weird when they win. :)

I think it was 8-3. I hear ya on those evil Marlins. I remember saying last year that bears (Cubs) eat fish (Marlins). Turns out I was the one who got bit! haha

More weird things about me..... I could eat Mexican food 7 days a week. (have done it 6 days in one week before...couldn't on the 7th because the place is closed on Sundays) ;=0

I saw "Miracle" 13 times at the movie theatre. I wanted to see it more often but time didn't permit. I have the DVD now so everything is okay. lol! That movie to me is what LOTR or Star Wars is to other people. :)
