• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The last few pages have not been practical. Forced Castration? Tube tying? Vasectomy? Get serious.

Education and support are the best ideas. Maybe also education on values, virtues, life planning, and adoption processes.
Yes, let's simply rule out the options available to cut down on unwanted pregnancies and abortion and focus only on the things education, support and adoptions. How about birth control, or is that also impractical? The right has been attacking sex education in schools and trying to outlaw birth control, so on top of outlawing abortion other avenues to reduce abortions through education or birth control are at risk.

What about burkas for all women? Reduce the desire from men and reduce the need for abortions. Have girls married off at a young age so they can turnout as many children as they can. Will this work for you?

Yeah, but then all the wrong sex doing women won’t get punished for all the wrong sex doings. You can’t go treating women like people you need to see them as non emotional ultra rational perfect decision makers in a world where bad things ONLY happen to bad people (the wrong sex doing women).

Giving birth is the punishment for the wrong sex doing (after the birth who cares what happens to the baby?) and childcare provision simply encourages the wrong sex doing. Abortions, childcare, education and birth control are the four dragons that have to be slain if punishing wrong sex doing women.
It's quite silly to suggest that we on the right want to punish women for having sex leading to pregnancy. That's not the case at all. We just believe that the baby deserves to live and not have its life ended before it's even begun. Nobody is makes all the right choices in life as we all make mistakes. But killing doesn't rectify anything.

Would not work. For one thing, equal rights and equal protection would mean that the police would be required by law to investigate every miscarriage. There would have to be some modifications to the laws to accommodate the unborn.
So?

If you don't "want to punish women for having sex leading to pregnancy" then you support unfettered access (potentially free) to methods of contraception that prevent fertilization from occurring? ("The pill", condoms, etc.)

If a pregnant woman would purchase a ticket for an airline flight could the airline charge her for two people?
Not necessarily, however the pregnant woman would first need to have a signed notice for flight approval by a licensed pediatrician and the family doctor within a week of the flight. Without such approvals, it may lead to child endangerment charges.

Wow, that would be an annoying law.

Naturally, after all, the “child” would have to already have a Social Security number otherwise they wouldn’t be in “full compliance”.

Yes, of course! I posted it before, but also needed is a 'Certificate of Conception' which time stamps the precise moment of fertilization. :)

It would, but then again making a fetus legally bestowed the benefits of full person hood would change a great many things for pregnant women.
Of course if there were any problems in the relationship (that had spawned this newest Citizen) the fetus would need to have legal representation for itself since the mother’s attorney couldn’t advocate for the legal entity that is the “child”.

It's wrong to kill an unborn child. The fact that somehow a majority was taught abortion is ok blows my mind. How is it even remotely ok? Lord, have mercy
I was taught that it was OK when God killed millions of unborn children in the flood, and they all deserved it because humans begin to sin immediately after conception. Was that not correct?

Jeremiah 1 5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed.
Conception happens in the fallopian tube, not the womb. This verse implies that life begins after conception.

Give the unborn equal rights and equal protection under the law.
Equal rights? Are you sure about that??

Let me ask you something...do you currently have the right to invade another person's property, stay there for several months without permission or consent, and cannot be ejected by the property owner?

If you don't have that right, and in fact, no one does...why do you feel granting this right to an embryo is equal?

What you want is for embryos to have superior rights than all other human beings. You want them to have rights no one else has, and you want women, particularly pregnant women, to have less than everyone else.

Admit it.

Then...justify it. With US law.

If you can do that, maybe you'll have a point.

So identical twins both exist in a single cell at conception? Yes or no.
Identical twins start to exist as soon as God starts to create them. How He does it, I have absolutely no idea. He is the Creator of all life. Since every human is made in image of God, having an abortion is killing a image of God.
