  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The fruit of the womb is a reward.

The zygote isn't just inside of her body, it's using her body for all functions of life. Without her body, it can't survive.

Then why can't she decide to deny a zygote the right to use her body?

-- A2SG, according to you, anyway....in most states, she actually does have that right....
...because it's a human and has a right to life

The unborn baby is not her body. Period. It's in her body, but it's not her body.
The zygote is attached to her body, and uses it for all functions of life.

-- A2SG, shouldn't she have a say in the matter?

Once again, no one's saying the zygote isn't human.

And, once again, that right is only possible in roughly half of all pregnancies, no matter what anyone does.

-- A2SG, so it isn't a right any state can guarantee.....

Actions lead to consequences. Married or unmarried.
And even though a woman may use contraception she still could get pregnant.
So if a married woman with 6 kids, who is using contraception, gets pregnant, she has to carry the fetus to term because “that’s the way the cookie crumbles”?

The unborn baby is inside her body, but it's not her body.
You're right, but none of us are fully independent. We ALL rely on others for our survival in the world.
And no one is "taking possession of her body."
If pregnancy isn’t “taking possession” of a woman’s body (especially if she’s “not allowed” to choose to have a medical-abortion), then squatters aren’t occupying a house that belongs to someone else.

Sadly it seems that a law demanding a vasectomy might be enforceable and accomplished with quite a bit of support.
While a law protecting the unborn would take millions of dollars every day out of someone's pockets, and they would continue for the money making and ignore the law... even though they suffer God's vengeance on the day appointed.
It would successfully prevent abortions though, which is the topic of the OP.

Still doesn't make it right.

She made her decision when she had consensual sex.

The Bible tells married women that their bodies are “not their own”, I am going to guess that you agree with this assessment?

abortion, killing the unborn child
She obviously doesn!t want a 7th child, that’s why she was on contraception, if it failed, why shouldn’t she be allowed to take a pill today and another tomorrow to conform with her will?

Give the unborn equal rights and equal protection under the law.
Would not work. For one thing, equal rights and equal protection would mean that the police would be required by law to investigate every miscarriage. There would have to be some modifications to the laws to accommodate the unborn.

and make mommy to be an incubator which can be detained for any act deemed dangerous to her and the unborn child because they are one in the same. It is going to be fun....
