  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How to stop abortions.

1. Stop insulting single pregnant women.

2. Free child care.
Or as has been shown time and again:

Sex-education freely available. Contraceptives freely available.

Tie the tubes of every female child born and all pregnancies must be by artificial means.

It answers the question... but raises a million others.
Why not men?

That would not stop pregnancy.
Castration will....

By the way, tube tying does not ensure no pregnancy will occur.
"While tubal ligation is effective in preventing most pregnancies, it isn’t an absolute. An estimated 1 out of every 200 women will become pregnant after tubal ligation."

Don't just say it, prove me wrong.

Google any school with the question "what makes something alive" and you will get a list of five or so things.

Reproduction is one of them. Sperm does not make more sperm and eggs don't make more eggs.

So by definition sperm and eggs are not living.

Ok... kill all females. Is that a better answer for you?

You said LIVING, not living and reproducing.

Those women who have tubal ligation can no longer reproduce (mostly). Does this mean they have stopped living?

If raising a child was more affordable, abortion wouldn't occur as often. Adoption is already a heavily strained system and needs all the alleviation it can get. I'm from Canada and we have healthcare paid for by our taxes and it works. Childcare being paid for by taxes would be a worthy investment in our countries future.
Yeah, but then all the wrong sex doing women won’t get punished for all the wrong sex doings. You can’t go treating women like people you need to see them as non emotional ultra rational perfect decision makers in a world where bad things ONLY happen to bad people (the wrong sex doing women).

Giving birth is the punishment for the wrong sex doing (after the birth who cares what happens to the baby?) and childcare provision simply encourages the wrong sex doing. Abortions, childcare, education and birth control are the four dragons that have to be slain if punishing wrong sex doing women.

The definition of living is that reproduction happens. Basic grade 10 biology.
In 10th grade they told me Columbus discovered America. Basic grade 10 history.

Is Sperm a Living Organism?

In conclusion, the question of whether sperm cells are living organisms or not is complex and ongoing. While there is evidence to support both sides of the argument, there is still much research needed to fully understand the nature of sperm cells and how they fit into our understanding of life. Regardless of their classification, there is no denying the critical role that sperm cells play in reproduction and the creation of new life.

If the question was how to stop sperm spillage... the answer would be to castrate the men.

But that was not the question.
You’re saying a vasectomy for every man wouldn’t lower abortion rate?

The last few pages have not been practical. Forced Castration? Tube tying? Vasectomy? Get serious.

Education and support are the best ideas. Maybe also education on values, virtues, life planning, and adoption processes.

That seems kind of late. I think we learned that "fact" in 2-4th grade somewhere. In 8th grade world history we learned that Columbus never actually got to what later became the United States. (We also learned that "discovered" is a matter of perspective. Europeans learned the Americas were there, but the locals already knew that.) On to the topic de jour.

Sperm cells are clearly alive (until they die) and disconnected from other living cells. Are they "living organisms"? It would seem not in the traditional understanding, but they can also be seen as part of the haploid phase of the life cycle of nearly all multicellular animals. (The diploid phase is the other, better known phase.)
