If I remember correctly, one poster* said it was because he was getting "too much of a good thing."... and what led him to become a non-believer.
Yes, you said Christian. But did you believe in the Holy Trinity? Not all Christians on this site do, even though (for those willing to see) it clearly says it in the bible. Jesus is the Son of God and he is God.
You completely avoided the question. Did you believe that Jesus is God when you were a Christian? The specific details of the nature of this God are irrelevant to the statement about whether I had detected God. As I said earlier...
Again, in my case, I did what was expected of me .. I didn't know what a belief was.You completely avoided the question. Did you believe that Jesus is God when you were a Christian?

What led you to become a believer in the first place?
That's a very honest answer.I think I deliberately avoided being asked that question.
It's not at all odd when you consider your avoidance of the question to begin with.Of course. That is a rather odd question. I also didn't detect Jesus then either.
What did your church teach exactly?Indoctrination in childhood, just like most people.
It might sound a bit childish .. well .. because I'm going way back to my childhood and answering your questions as that child(?)That's a very honest answer.

Can you elaborate further? What denomination did you grow up in as per your statement below?
What did your church teach exactly?
Are you talking about the Holy Trinity? I grew up in a Christian religion that never taught it so when I came to Christ last year, a pastor explained it to me like this: A man can be a Father, a son and an uncle. It's the same person but the roles are different. Make sense? It might sound a bit childish .. well .. because I'm going way back to my childhood and answering your questions as that child(?)
I don't think I could never understand how two people could be the same person(?) .. and because I couldn't get that understanding, I don't think I ever developed the belief that they were(?)
Very interesting!
It looks like a branch of Catholicism, would that be right? I'm pretty sure the Catholic teaching does not teach Jesus is God, but only the Son of God, from what I've been told.I did not.
It's a very well known doctrine that can be found online. Here is the WP page about it.

One thing you'll find about Hans is that he is very honest and straightforward; and not shy about answering tough questions put to him. That's a very honest answer.
That wasn't a response to Hans. One thing you'll find about Hans is that he is very honest and straightforward; and not shy about answering tough questions put to him.
It plainly says a lot of things that plainly are notYes, you said Christian. But did you believe in the Holy Trinity? Not all Christians on this site do, even though (for those willing to see) it clearly says it in the bible. Jesus is the Son of God and he is God.
OOPS!That wasn't a response to Hans.
I said clearly, not plainly. The Holy Spirit changes the interpretation of scripture from the face value that a lot of people take it as.It plainly says a lot of things that plainly are not
so.
Ah so. It plainly and clearly says many things that arent so.I said clearly, not plainly. The Holy Spirit changes the interpretation of scripture from the face value that a lot of people take it as.

You need to correct the attributions (or quotes) on your immediately last post #3124.
You have mixed in your own words and made it look like others have said them.
This is an extremely obnoxious posting technique .. and you need to repair the damage immediately.
Take this advice how you like ..
