Thank you everyone for your replies!

Boogalaboogala – I too am trying to get rid of things in my life that aren’t pleasing to God or that distract me from him. I feel like the more I surround myself with uplifting things the closer I’ll feel to him and the further I’ll be from this world. I 100% agree with all you said. I guess that’s why I’m struggling, I know the truth and how I should be, but like the old saying ‘easier said than done’. It is a wonderful thing knowing that God chose us; it was nothing we did or ever could do. I will keep your words on my mind, thank you!

Soul2Soul – I admire that you were able to share your faith on the streets; that takes a lot of strength and courage. Thank you for that passage. I love verses in the Bible that talk about how God calls us even though we are weak, in fact he can use that weakness. I know I’ve got plenty of weakness for Him. I just want to let it all go into His hands. Thanks for replying.

Asnath – I definitely overanalyze everything and yes it drives me crazy. Thanks for the advice. Christ is the key to overcoming this.

Scott1979 – Thanks for letting me know I’m not alone. Praying for you.

Quasicentennial – I think it’s true that many of us assume people we meet aren’t Christians and that they’re going to hate us and our beliefs. I know I tend to assume the worst when I shouldn’t make assumptions in the first place. Thanks for the reply.

Peripatetic – I figure that even if I get my worrying/anxiety under control it will always be like you said something to manage. I like your social circle idea, it helps to visual opinions and where they lie. Yeah, it does seem like as soon as you think no one’s noticing, someone does hehe. Thanks for your reply.

Fellowshipseeker – It’s definitely tough, isn’t it? Praying for you too!

you seem to have gotten a lot of fantastic advices so far

I think one thing that has helped me a huge deal is by asking myself this question " if I take my current age, then add one hundred years to it, who would still remember me?"

then the answer become obvious

no one, possibly with the exception of my grandchildren ( if I have any), but even they would be too busy to focus on their own lives to think about me.

you need to remember that everything will come to a pass one day, and our time here is all but blink of an eye compare with eternity.

and people generally judges others based on things that has no eternal significance, such as power, wealth, status, success or charm.

even people like Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, who being fawned and adored by those around her will find this out one day.

ultimately ,there is only One whose opinion count, and that is the Lord.

maybe ask God to help you to learn to live for the audience of One from this point onwards, this should help.

anyway, I came across this cute little music video on youtube recently, you should check it out.

I am not too big on the music, but I think the lyrics is great and so is the video itself

Thanks Traveler! That's a good perspective to have. In the long run, it won't matter. It's so easy to get caught up in the short term. Thanks for reminding me of that. I liked that song too, great lyrics and catchy to boot.
