I came across one at work, I didn't let them bully/control me, and because I stood my ground, they threatened to end my job and take away my living.

I seen many red flags, this person is toxic, vindicative, condescending. Just by being near this person and hearing them talk you can tell they are terrible to be around.

My instincts kicked in, and my gut feeling wanted me to stay away from this person. But liberalism influenced me to "give everybody the benefit of the doubt" yes even the clearly crazy and toxic ones.

The fact that my instincts never have failed me, as in matter of fact I failed more ignoring my instincts, tells me to trust them, because maybe they are there for a reason.

My sense of security gives me a feeling that if I truly done no wrong then I have nothing to worry about, but these days you never know. I just truly don't understand how disgusting a human being has to be to try to ruin someone's life because they didn't get their way. sickening and certainly a pawn of the devil.

Go to your boss and "plant a flag". Inform them that there is some interpersonal problem with you and your coworker and you don't know what it is but you're dealing with it. If anything ever comes up you can remind your boss that you've already talked about it.

I try to give people the benefit of the doubt as well. But eventually there is no denying when someone has issues in how they operate alone and with others. It’s best to avoid them if possible. If you cannot, your best bet is to discuss it with your boss or Human Resources if that’s available.

Get lots of advice before doing anything. Often these people have a longer history with the company and they are your memo that's it's time to find a better workplace. Cause they are no going anywhere. In my experience.

You have the right to not be subjected to a hostile work environment, see an attorney if it comes to that.

May be you should let the Christian in you be more pronounced than the liberal in you and you will find life better for all concerned.

Peace be to all those in the Body of Christ.

Start polishing up a resume. I worked for a bully and became suicidal. Best thing I did was walk away from the job.

I don't know the person or what the person is doing; so I do not know practically what to do. If the person has authority over you, I would say don't do what is wrong, in any case, and be good with the person . . . an example of how to relate, how to be . . . so your example can be used by God to help him or her.

I have heard of trouble people trying to get others to do the trouble person's work assignments. They might even claim the boss told them to tell you to do their work. In such a case, I might double-check with the boss.

But ones might retaliate by messing with your computer, and however else. So, be ready in prayer, in any case. Trust God for how things go, but always in prayer be ready for love. I would not allow an evil person to have power to control all of your attention. But keep ready for loving others and discovering who might be another Christian there and a real friend you might have missed if there wasn't a problem :)

Look how Joseph handled his toxic situation, how the LORD brought His good result all-loving and not only good for Joseph > Genesis 37-50.
