• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Good articles. The second one has a good point in that foregiveness is not just a gift for those you forgive but also for yourself. If you refuse to forgive anger and bitterness can tear you apart. I now this from personal experience.

A few years ago I went through a process of forgiving everyone that had hurt me. Bitterness and anger was almost destroying me as I was daily haunted by memories of situations where I had been hurt. Then I decided to try foregiving. I sat down for I don't know how long and went through every situation and person I could think of. From my heart I then started forgiving everyone and deciding never to hold anything against them if I met them again. A few days after this I noticed that I was no longer haunted by these things. It was as if I was set free. That is when I learned a little bit about the true power of foregiveness. It makes you able to let go and move on.

wonderful!
fantastic!
thank you soooo much for sharing these wonderful articles!!!! :D
God bless you!
they are fantastic and honest - so few churches, christians etc. teach about the truths of forgiving... what it is and what it isn't... i am encouraged that forgiveness is NOT necessarily letting the person who hurt you back in your life if you know that doing this will only allow that person to hurt you again!

thanks again 4 sharing those links... ive added them to my favs on my computer :)

The Lord is definitely working through you CordieLaLa to me. As a Christian who has just come home to the Lord after being gone for about 17 years, I have been thinking of the people that I have hurt when I was such a nonchristian. That second article really articulated what I could do to help myself forgive me for what I did and to mend relationships with those I hurt. Thank you so much:clap:
