The poster I was responding to referenced "the shooting in Ferguson".
The shooting in Ferguson was just the tip of the iceberg of the kind of abuse of the black community that was going on there.
So it was pretty much justified in 99% of the stories that have come out. Check.
I would never assume. In fact, that's (assuming) the problem.
I can see that. What I see is that you ignored the portion of the post (bolded) and only discussed one incident which happened to be the straw which broke the camels back. You completely ignored the main point of the post you quoted.
I responded to a particular point. He said "the shooting in Ferguson" was the "tip of the iceberg".
No, it wasn't. We all know that. The shooting wasn't "abuse". It was self-defense.
We all know that.
It was the tip of the iceberg, and the DOJ report I posted explained this. Too bad you ignored my post where I already explained.
No, the shooting was the tip of the iceberg not the self defense shooting. We don't have it confirmed that it was self-defense, just the words of the cop and some others against others. There was no trial given, and the police department had a track record of abuse. The shooting was self-defense. To say it was the tip of the iceberg is to say "the self-defense shooting was the tip of the iceberg.
Ok. I see you have acknowledged the "The shooting in Ferguson" part of the comment, and now have digested the "was just the tip of the iceberg" part as well. The shooting was self-defense. To say it was the tip of the iceberg is to say "the self-defense shooting was the tip of the iceberg.

There was no trial though, despite evidence there should have been. Not sure what your first sentence means. But you must remember the whole grand jury investigation into the shooting, it was all the news talked about for months. Even under this intense spotlight it was considered self defense.
It's interesting we can't even seem to talk about "how" to combat racism, let alone actually do it.
Ok. I see you have acknowledged the "The shooting in Ferguson" part of the comment, and now have digested the "was just the tip of the iceberg" part as well.
Looks like that job is taken. But let me ask you (everyone should ask themselves this question): What race are your top one hundred heroes?Oh man, you are a riot, you should do stand up.
You don't think that those people who harbour "unfounded bitterness" might treat people they are bitter towards in prejudicial ways?THERE IS NO LONGER ANY RACIAL PREJUDICE, but rather an unfounded bitterness by some unwilling to move on, and a convenient cause by others, who themselves are agitators. In a society and nation whose history abolished slavery on the world stage, who has raised up equality to be hero status among our greatest achievements in art, music, sports, politics, and all professions...all that remains are: AGITATORS...whom we ALL should shun into obscurity.
They might do any number of things, but the point is, you can not define it as prejudice on one hand and give hero status on the other. What we have now is NOT prejudice...it's hypocrisy. You don't think that those people who harbour "unfounded bitterness" might treat people they are bitter towards in prejudicial ways?
I don't follow your thinking. They might do any number of things, but the point is, you can not define it as prejudice on one hand and give hero status on the other. What we have now is NOT prejudice...it's hypocrisy.
The first step to solving a problem, is to properly define it. It ain't prejudice.
The same people who are looked down upon are also looked up at (as heroes). It has been that way for decades. Ask ANYONE to list their top one hundred heroes...and they will be of many races: Sports stars, actors, artists of all kinds, teachers, politicians, etc.I don't follow your thinking.
Who's getting "hero status" and what does that really have to do with anything?
Probably only two races in my top hundred. And one of those significantly less than the other. The same people who are looked down upon are also looked up at (as heroes). It has been that way for decades. Ask ANYONE to list their top one hundred heroes...and they will be of many races: Sports stars, actors, artists of all kinds, teachers, politicians, etc.
We don't have a racial problem. We need to call it what it is. It's HYPOCRISY.
