Hello everyone,

I need to know how to stop being angry at God. Simple question yet I have no idea how. I know some of my previous posts on this forums were extremley volatile, which is why I haven't posted on this forum until now, but I really would like your input on this question. I thought this anger would eventually just go away, but the more I seem to read His word, the more angry I seem to become. Maybe it will and I am just to impatient, but maybe their is an answer that I haven't thought of yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone.

Have you told God how you feel? I find that just being honest with God and telling him how I'm feeling really helps. The anger may not disappear right away, but it may help. You could also write your feelings out if writing helps you. With any negative emotions that I can't seem to control or get rid of, I find just giving them to God helps. Just saying, "God, I don't know what to do with this emotion. I don't know how to get rid of it or to get past it. Please just take it."

Why are you mad at Him? What answers are you seeking?

Well that would require a lot of backstory and honestly if you were to look at my threads for the last six months you would get the idea, but I really don't want to delve into that since I am trying to stay away from that. However, to summarize I would say eternal hell, certain OT laws and situations.

well..

at times when I've been angry at God, his Holy Spirit would come to me in a dream and I would feel better after I got up for the for sometime ...
(I haven't hit permanent change yet..I believe need to follow some instructions I was given in order for that to permanent change to come about)

Like once he came and a woman was preaching. I remember she said," without Jesus you would be a dead dog!.." She was saying it with expression like
and she also said
"You've got to love YOU. By yourself a dress" something like that
when she said You've got to love you its like something clicked and I felt something in my head/brain.
Basically love yourself( not having self-hatred)
anyway it was like I was in my bed on my back and I believe the Holy Spirit was holding my head and drew like a line around my face
anyway I felt ministered to and loved..
it helped me have a better image of God..

Though I have to admit I have not been as stable as I should be, I feel need to get on track

Anyway I pray God your spirit would minister healing to his or her heart in Jesus. Please visit him in a dream or vision and minister to him or her if that will help him or her Amen.

I pulled this from one of your threads-- quoting you:
"I Already know, I just cannot submit to someone and serve Him the rest of my life blindy following Him."

*Not blindly following anyone -- I move in faith, responding to what the Lord has laid upon my heart to do...this faith is not "blind"; it is based on knowledge of God’s nature and character, His promises in the Scriptures, and my personal experience walking with God every day for many years and also the life experiences of other mature Christians that
have mentored me over the years.

A lot of folks say that Abraham blindly followed the Lord-- such as when the Lord
instructed him to sacrifice his son Isaac.
Abraham did not act blindly.
Instead, he used his powers of reasoning, based on what he knew about God, to think it through. He knew God’s nature as a faithful God, and he remembered God’s promise regarding Isaac. Then he acted accordingly.
You can check that point out in Hebrews... Chapter 11:17-19.
(sources: life experiences, Bible and gotquestions.org)

What we couldn't do in the OT was keep the LAW-- God sent his only begotten
Son to do it and REDEEM the lost. All that was accomplished --thanks God!

The gift of salvation is still there for you --you can accept it or
decline it and keep being angry at God about something that He has taken care of and not only that, He established a New Covenant-- One of Grace (that is, God's unmerited favor.)

I know you have many issues with stuff in the bible (who of us doesn't?)

Being angry and posting rants etc. will not make you feel better about yourself
or God.
I have seen so much scripture being misquoted and or twisted to suit a poster's
own agenda so much, I've lost track of who has posted what over the year and a couple
of months I've been on this site.

I encourage folks to continue seeking, searching and working on tendering their attitudes and feelings about certain topics that they don't fully understand.
If you are going to actual seek God, then it would actually help if you did so with
a gentler attitude.

A person who moves/operates in anger or bitterness is hindering his or her own process
of acquiring knowledge and or understanding about God's nature, character etc.
It's not only true of those seeking spiritual things, it's also true when a person
is seeking knowledge and or understanding about human matters also.

Hmmm...

Well, keep seeking the Lord and you will find peace and rest. It may take time, and it will make you crazy at times(as it may already be doing), but it is all a learning experience. Keep pressing forward. It's okay to be mad at God as long as you are still willing to learn or hear from Him. Keep your mind and heart open.

Shouldnt it be obvious to you that WE (everyone here) don't have the answers to your problems and never will no matter how much we may say or try to say. The more you post, the more angry/confused you become at different replies you get.

The more you read the Bible the more angry you become. WHY is that? Shouldn't you know by now that what you are going through is more spiritual than natural.

ONLY GOD is capable of helping you out.

I will advise you strongly to seek Him. Ok, this is the deal. God knows you are angry, there is no point hiding that anyway.
Go to Him anyway and let Him know how you feel. Not that your anger will change who God is or will change His words that is set from even before the beginning of time.
When you read the Bible with natural mind, yes you have worries and may be confused and may feel a bit angry, but you need the help of the Holy Spirit.

God will not say 'sorry' to you or anyone for what He did, does or will do for He never makes mistakes.
He will not change His words and ways because you find it annoying. That is why He calls man's wisdom 'FOOLISH'

And also why He says "My ways are not your ways, neither are my thoughts your thoughts. As far as HEAVENS is from EARTH (do you know how far that is?), so are my ways farther from yours."

When you want to learn from God, you have got to push everything you think you know or how you think it should be outside the door and simply come to Him like a little kid and humble yourself before Him and start asking and TRUSTING

I was angry at God too recently because many times I feel its not that we are angry at God for whats going on, but we are waiting on God to turn our situation around. I ask Him to forgive me when I calm down and thank Him for the good that is going on and for what Hes done and for what he will do . And in prayer I tell God why I am mad and my struggles.

As others have said here: be honest with your God. It takes faith to believe that He won't hit you with a lightning bolt the moment you start shaking your fist.

If I may suggest a study for you, read through the gospels (start with your favorite) and while you are reading, ask yourself this: Who did Jesus think God was? How did he read scripture? (You can determine this by looking up the sections of scripture Jesus quoted and read the quotes in context.)

When I was angry at God, it lasted for a few years. I'm a fairly stubborn woman even on a good day, but after I put my kid in the ground, I wasn't about to accept pretty cliches from anyone... and certainly not from the Creator who started this whole mess.

Jesus said to "seek first His righteousness", and that is what you are doing. You are looking for God's righteousness. I have not one doubt, in my heart or in my head, that you will find it. And you will find that He is far, far gooder than you ever imagined.

Praying for you, brother

If you are chronically angry at God you have a misunderstanding about Him. If you understood why He did what He did, and why He does what he does, you would be amazed at His wisdom and love. The Law was given to break us of any illusion that we could save ourselves. It was rooted in futility and destined to fail, paving the way for Christ.

Have you ever come across an evil person? I don't mean a mere sinner. I mean someone who knows what he is doing is completely wrong and does it anyway despite how many it hurts? God has done everything he can to keep everyone from suffering eternal punishment. But He is dead serious about having given us free will - so much so that He went ahead with Creation even knowing the terrible Cost it would take to redeem it. The sin and death in this world are not of His doing. He is the answer, not the problem.

Oftentimes when we are angry at God there is a root of hurt in us that needs attention. A broken heart, perhaps. I have found that when I hit the wall of pain and confusion it is best to actively wait on God for the answer. He really wants us to gain the wisdom to understand what is going on and to triumph in all circumstances. But to do that we need to draw close to Him in expectant faith. He has so much to give you. Don't cut Him off.
