• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How queer

"Queer"?

  • LGBT - I find it offensive/consider it an insult

  • LGBT - I don't find it offensive, but I don't self-identify as queer

  • LGBT - I self-identify as queer

  • Straight - I think it is offensive

  • Straight - I don't think it is offensive

I don't care what 2 adults choose to call one another, and if one of them care, then they need to take it up with the other, not me. If children are calling one another by a slang term that one of them finds offensive, then I think an adult (preferably a parent or both parents) should become involved.

As a transsexual I suppose queer is better than f*g, he/she, [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse], or degenerate. That being said I just like being described as a person. Anything other than that shouldn't really matter.

Please don't be a jerk. Do you really think making stupid, offensive jokes like that are what Jesus would do? Seriously.

If you weren't being serious, then you might wanna watch what you say from now on, because that was really unfunny and I doubt the person you're addressing appreciates it.

Actually, I was very serious. It is afterall a word that is part of my vocabulary when referring to such people as the transexual. I asked if this would be offensive to them as a serious question. Not that it would stop me from using it as I am completely opposed to such things and will not be unclear on this stance.

If my oppinion makes me a "jerk" then so be it.

No its pretty darn rude.
Then how would you propose someone refer to a [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]? I will NEVER call a man who has had the operation a her or the other way around. It is really a very descriptive term that I use in this situation. Nobody has ever not understood what I was talking about.

Well its considered polite to use our prefered pronouns. If you can't bring yourself to be that civil then use gender neutral pronuns. Why, pray tell, won't you call a transsexual woman her, or a transsexual man him?

Okay, I retract my "Jerk" statement since you were asking a serious question, though I'm tempted to put it right back on the table since you seem to know it's offensive and opt to still use it.

I would think that if I said something and two people immediately jumped on me for it, that I ought to either apologize or explain why I said what I said and that I didn't mean to be offensive at all, and then shut my mouth. I guess I just don't like to offend people. It really wouldn't be too hard to find another word to use to address them, would it? How about just calling them "Transexuals"? How about asking what that person would like to be called?

I use the word [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] a lot. To describe the part in cars that transfers rotational torque from the engine to the driveshaft or transaxles. But I wouldn't use it to describe people. I don't even care for the word "gay" to describe homosexuals.

Because a doctor does not decide the sex of a person, God does. I don't care what they choose to run around as, they are still what God created them to be and I won't play the politically correct game of accepting whatever people want to do.

Then people are going to consider you a monumental jerk, and rightfully so. I know Jesus said that people would hate us, but I don't think he meant we could deliberately honk people off because we're on a moral high horse.

Well, unlike you, I don't vacillate on my beliefs because two people "jumped on me" or because someone might not like what I have to say. That is what is wrong with this world. People think we have to just "tolerate" everything so we don't offend someones sensibilities. MALARKY! If I offend someone living in sin, then so be it. I don't bend my convictions to please the masses.

So put whatever term you want back on the table. I don't care to pander.

So why are you so sure god doesn't put a female brain in a male body or vice versa? He causes pleanty of other birth defects. Would it make you feel better if every transsexual in the world didn't transition and instead speant our whole lives sliding deeper and deeper into a depression that nothing can help untill we evenutally take our own lives out of despair?

Fine. If you choose to act like a jerk in the name of Christ, then so be it. I was just trying to help you out.

Ditto.

You seem to forget how unbending Christ was in what He came to teach. Maybe you should try reading the Bible instead of the latest politically correct left wing rags.
